Displaced by Fire Evacuation
It will be 4+ months before I can re-open my store which is on "vacation" mode. Is there any way to waive store fees until I can access my to-be remediated inventory? How can I connect with eBay to discuss? The ebay for business FB page was my go-to but appears to no longer exist. Thanks for any recommendations.

·1 year agoYou'd think that since eBay has "Seller Protections" for affected areas of California, that they would also allow for temporarily shuttering (and temporarily not charging for) a seller's eBay Store if the seller is in an affected area as well.
Please try the link provided by a couple of comments for contacting them via Facebook or Twitter and update us if you want, are able.
I'm so very sorry that you're going through this.

·1 year agoI had to be away for surgery, I just closed all my sales down. I have relisted now that I'm back. (there is another site that starts with E and I have had a harder time relisting on it, it doesn't differentiate between closed and sold listings!)

I am sincerely and deeply sorry for what you and your family and friends must be going through right now. To say it is horrific is simply an understatement.
I would think Ebay would work with you on this or I would certainly hope so.
On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://www.facebook.com/ebay
https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

The eBay for Business F.Book page was replaced with this one:
https://www.facebook.com/eBay/ (use the blue message button)
The other two social media links are:

·1 year agoIf you are on the annual store subscription, they will penalize you for cancelling and/or downgrading. (Note: they will calculate what your penalty will be before you click OK).

I'm so sorry this happened to you, but you're getting good advice here.
For the future -- When I need to speak to eBay, I message the "Ask eBay" account on X (Twitter). They respond immediately. Private message them stating that you're a seller and wish to speak with someone about your account. They will respond and send you a link to log into your account before they can address your issue.
If you don't have an X account, it's pretty easy to set one up. I've tried messaging the "eBay for Sellers" account on Instagram, but they don't respond.

·1 year agoIf you are on a monthly subscription just close the Store. If you are on a yearly subscription plan you will have to figure out if it is better to just continue or cancel.
Instead of Time Away you could turn on the Out Of Stock option and bulk edit your listings to zero quantity. eBay will continue to renew the listings 5 times before ending them. The ended listings will be available for an additional 90 days in ended/unsold.
If you decide to cancel the subscription DO IT NOW (today/tomorrow) so you don't pay for another month.
If you don't cancel the Store I still recommend the Out Of Stock option because you otherwise would have to renew the Time Away every 30 days.

·1 year agoNo, EBAY requires you to pay for store subscription (they do not care about your circumstances). You could "cancel your store subscription" (your listings will still remain active). https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/ebay-stores/closing-ebay-store?id=4091
