Just saw this on LinkedIn - not clear if she was part of this week's layoffs or just coincidental timing, but Director Community & Engagement, Rebecca Michals, is leaving eBay.

·6 months agoThe tiny number of sellers who use this forum is probably an indication of the priority Ebay will attach to functions which appear to reach out to sellers as human beings.
This forum represents little but a source of free advice from people who know more about how Ebay works and is used than any of the paid employees.
And a free source for business advice beyond the mechanics of Ebay.

OP6 months agoI'm assuming this may also be why there hasn't been an announcement about the Spring Seller Check In?
The last few years it has been in early March and there is nothing listed on the Seller Events page.
@devon@ebay @kyle@ebay @elizabeth@ebay can you confirm if there will be a Spring Seller Check In and if not, is it just a one time thing or are the quarterly check ins going away completely?

·6 months ago@valueaddedresource There are only two 2 hour "Seller Check Ins" scheduled for this year---Spring on May 28th, and Winter on October 8th. Other months have the one hour monthly webinars. And of course, there has been no mention so far about any sort of ebay Open, real or virtual.

Never mind, I should know better than to expect eBay might actually put stuff where it should go like on the Seller Events page. 😂 Found it on the webinar page.

And I agree. Expecting ebay to do the logical thing is taking a walk on the Road to Disappointment.
We've gone from "Mondays with Marnie" and weekly Board chats to quarterly seller check ins that are now reduced to 2 per year. But we also have monthly "webinars" that include a ten minute Q&A session for softball questions.
"Seller communication" continues to improve in ways I never would have imagined.

Business doublespeak for things aren't going well. Maybe we should push sponsored listings more or increase final value fees.

OP6 months agoSadly, not sure if Rebecca will see those tags - looks like they already have her account marked as alumni and logged out as of 2/25, which I think makes it more likely she may have been affected by the layoff. 🙁
