Did we have a holiday return window for 2025?
Sorry I'm so out of it I never knew if ebay even had this policy this holiday season. I did a quick check here and online and couldn't find anything about it for the 2025 holiday season.
So was there an extended holiday return window for this season that just passed?

·9 months agoI don't remember there ever being anything extended beyond 30 days. As a seller you can claim to not have returns, but if the item isn't as described, defective, eBay will still allow a return. Those who have 14 day return policy might have to honor the 30 day returns still, I am not sure about that one though.

·9 months agoeBay tried this many years ago. (2014) They required that sellers that offer returns extend them into January.
I am not certain that it went over very well and I Haven't seen them offer it for years. (thankfully)
As it is, Buyers get enough leeway for returns. I have one now that "ordered by mistake" and they have three weeks to return.
Seems like it is generous enough.

·9 months agoI don't know if this will help you; however, I purchased an item on December 19th, and it was received on December 22nd. The seller offers 30-day seller-paid returns, and on my purchase history page, it shows returns accepted through January 21st. So, at least for my order, there was no extended return window.

·9 months agoNo extended return window on ebay. ebay usually suggests that sellers extend their individual return windows for the Holidays, but there is no blanket policy.

·9 months agoI think that is entirely up to the seller,Is it not?

OP9 months agoI forget how it was in past years when they had it. For some reason I thought it was mandatory for sellers who offered 30 day returns. Either that or for that time being ebay only offered TRS+ benefits for sellers who opted into the extended window. My memory is fuzzy on this.

·9 months ago@iamalwaysright Some years ago ebay set up an extended holiday return window. I think it lasted one year, and was changed from mandatory to volunteer about midway through....not clear on that. But , as I remember, it was a 90 day window that began counting down on Nov 1st and ran through the end of January. So, a last minute Christmas shopper, buying on Dec 17th had until the end of January to return, just as an early shopper buying on Nov 1st had until the end of January.
Sellers did not like it, and ebay has not brought it back.

OP9 months agoGood to know. I currently have a buyer wanting to return for an outrageous reason ('tis the season right?). It's over my return window of 30 days and I just wanted to be sure there was no extended period so I'll know whether or not to reply to the buyer with a "talk to the hand".

·9 months agoYou can decline it if it’s past the return window, it isn’t extended for the holidays, as others have noted. Just always keep in mind the potential for a chargeback, though having declined a properly filled return request on eBay may be helpful if they do that.

·9 months agoI don't think so. I know some single seller ecommerce sites do offer extended returns post Christmas. Amazon may have offered such a thing, not sure.

OP9 months agoYea the only things I found online refer to ebay in past years and a thread about Amazon and their holiday return window in November 2025. But nothing about ebay 2025. Guess I'll have to contact ebay and ask them tomorrow morning when CS opens.
