Did Ebay remove handling fee option?
Two or three months ago I created my first listing in over 10 years. Today I am working on my second, and everything looks totally different than what I remember from the prior one. One thing I can't find is somewhere to insert a handling fee. Did Ebay do away with that?

·2 years agoYou can charge ANY handling fee you want on ANY listing.
Just add your fee to the item price -or- the shipping charge.

·2 years agoSorry, I don't use eBay to list, so I wasn't sure exactly where on eBay's screen. So glad @wastingtime101 was able to provide a screen shot 🙂

OP2 years agoWell...I don't know how, but I stumbled on the box to insert the handling fee. I had saved the listing as a draft while I was getting answers to a few questions and just now when I opened the draft it was there lol. I swear I didn't see it before even though I looked multiple times. Oh well, all's well that ends well. Thanks everyone for your input.

OP2 years agoI'm not seeing anywhere to add a handling fee on the listing form unless I'm looking in the wrong place

·2 years agoHi @allthingsmoody . Not sure if you have to switch from the quick listing tool to the business listing tool all the way on the top right of the page or not.
But on the biz listing tool, this is how you find handling fee:

·2 years agoThe employees who ship the items aren't free, nor is the shipping material. These costs must be recouped by a real business.

Yes, and add eBay's fee on postage paid by buyer to that mix.

·2 years agoYou honestly don't need a handling fee anymore. As long as you don't "share the discount" with your customers you end up with a large cushion on basically every single order. I often get paid twice what it costs me to ship the item.

·1 year agono way you get paid twice what t cost to ship. the difference isn't even what you pay for shipping labels.
On my main seller account I have sold over 50 thousand items. Unless you are altering your shipping size nd weight at the time your making the label your not getting any where near double.

·1 year agoOH, yes, I do.
99% of my items weight less than 4oz.
I can ship to any part of the US from where I am (west coast) for no more than $5.
I charge $7.
If it's going to someone ON the west coast, I pay as little as $4.
I pay about $0.40 for envelope and tape and label and stuff.
And another 50 cents for someone to wrap it all up.
So, ok, not quite double ... but, every time the post office raises prices ... so do I.

·2 years agoWhat is a handling fee anyway? A fee a seller charges for them to do their job?
compscrap
·1 year agothe cost of handling and most buyers add the cost of the shipping materials in the handling fee also.
the sellers job is to sell stuff and make a profit. not ship things as cheap as possible for the buyer.

·1 year agoI aAways set a fixed price for my item and a separate shipping/handling charge no matter where it shipped in the 50 states and Puerto Rica and US protectorates - eBay states you can add a handling fee to the shipping charge I always fird the the counter price - shipped 1665 items without one complaint and only 1 neg FB and it was because my SH charge. Every item I sold had at least 46.5% or more if I could get it gross profit before taxes - based on total selling price. Guess all my buyers were willing to pay for my item at my price - sold primarily used items that in under e stated the items condition but with clear pics and written description that stated the "hickeys (and seen) as I required immediate payment. The buyer has no clue where it is in my item pricing or shipping charge. Oh always had a 1 day handling time or sooner ship with in one or sooner . Last I heard the US is still a Fair Marketplace and nowhere is it stated a seller can't charge what they wish. "can't always get what you want" - a 'Stones song from the mid 60s.
PS: From Downriver area lived in Ecorse, Lincoln Park and Taylor graduated from WMU in '67.
A sellers listing is there best sales person- ya' gotta' make it easy for the buyer to do business with you.. sold for 41.5 years as my career in the sme industry - price is not always the main reason why people buy.
