Did buyers eat a bowl of stupid-o's this morning?
Had a buyer message me eager to buy something and then goes "this item is like new right? absolutely no scratches or other marks?" I never put "like new" in the title, or put that in the description. Condition was selected as "used". I took several photos, too.
A few hours later another buyer messages me and this goes back and forth, asking questions about a golf cart light kit. The title starts with "12v". Their last message? "Oh nvm this is a 12 volt kit I need a 36 volt". The 2nd photo also shows the power input needing to be 12 to 16 volts. Every reply, 8 in all, to the buyer would also have "12v" in the subject line of the email.
The cherry on the cake? I got another negative feedback this same morning because a new still sealed in the box electronic item I sold "wouldn't charge". Didn't contact me, did not open a return, nothing.
It's especially inexcusable because this will appear if you try to leave someone bad feedback:
OFC eBay won't remove it, I already asked.

·4 months agoBrother... saying this as nicely as I can as a near 30 year seller with hundreds of thousands of sales and 100% positive feedback....
If this is how you react to ebay messages... you shouldn't be on here.. nor in retail generally lol... 10-30 times a day I get "stupid" questions..... if I let them trigger me this much... i'd probably have a stroke lol.... things like this will happen every day.. multiple times a day. Stop letting it bother you this much
I get being so upset over that feedback.. but "stupid questions" are something all sellers deal with daily.

·4 months agoI'm a retail worker and I get stupid questions all the time. A winner from the other day: "How many are in this set?"
The front of the box: '8 stemless wine glasses'

OP4 months agoIt's an interesting observation due to the fact it seems to happen in clumps. I can go a month or two without any then get 3-4 in a couple days.
Oddly this year and last, get people asking on items sold long ago if "this is still available". Seems like FB marketplace is leaking into eBay.

Just yesterday, you were advised about your responses to feedbacks. Clearly, you either didn't pay attention or you forgot because you continue to make name-calling, emotional and unprofessional replies to feedbacks.
If you aren't happy with buyers' questions, just block those buyers. There' s no need to get into back-and-forth if the conversation isn't going anywhere.

OP4 months agoWhere in that reply did I call someone a name?
Where in that reply was "emotion" used?
He purchased something from me, claimed it did not work, and did not file a return or contact me. So it advises other sellers to block them as their conduct is not professional. I was willing to make it right.
Your idea of "professional" is not congruent with reality.

·4 months agoYou called someone a Troll.... unproffesional
quadcitypickers
OP4 months ago"Troll" is not unprofessional when in the context of internet trolling. When quite literally everything they've purchased in the last 5 years they left negative feedback on, it's being a troll. It's an attribute of their behavior, not their looks....

·4 months agoYou don't know where, or even if, that troll exists, let alone what bridge he lives under. If he shows up at your door, more than likely he won't be there to shake your hand 🥸

·4 months agoLooks like he has only left one feedback - for anyone - in the past x years. That one was to you. Doesn’t seem to fit the narrative.

Sorry the item is defective, please return for a refund.
