Delayed/missing package was apparently bought by a freight forwarder. How to handle this? | Selling

Hi all, I am in the process of filing a missing mail request for a package that was supposed to have arrived last Friday but there have been no updates since its most recent scan on that Friday which was a Springfield Gardens, NY USPS facility. Its been looping on "In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late" all week. The destination is an address in Jamaica, NY and I just realized the address is 18221 150th Ave which seems to be a freight forwarder called Aramex and apparently has an infamous history with sellers. Another point is the address itself. 18221 150th Ave on the label shows Jamaica, NY while for others it shows Springfield Gardens, NY. I think the package is ultimately heading for Kuwait since "kwi" was listed beneath the buyer's name and is the airport code for Kuwait City. This is a fairly expensive item and I don't want to be scammed or have eBay ding my account for an INR. Interestingly enough, the buyer hasn't contacted me yet. Since it hasn't been delivered and its 5 days late, should I still proceed with a mail search request with USPS? I'm unemployed and selling is my only financial lifeline for now. I can't afford to take a $200 hit and a black mark against my account. Please advise
