Defects rolled off 2 days after evaluation, but have to stay in below average for another month
This seems very unethical and quite frankly, predatory. There is absolute no legitimate reason for this other than to squeeze another 30ish days of the extra 6% fees out of me.

·5 months agoIf you are a serious seller, I would bet you don't allow your account to get Below Standard again. Can be an expensive lesson.
The time periods for evaluations and account rating restoration have not changed recently. Same before you went Below Standard and will more than likely be the same if it ever happened again.

There are roughly 150 million sellers here.
eBay evaluates every seller once a month, and you think that is unethical.
If eBay evaluated every seller every two weeks, someone would think that was unethical.
If eBay evaluated every seller every week, someone would think that was unethical.
If eBay evaluated every seller every two days, someone would think that was unethical.
If eBay evaluated every seller every day, someone would think that was unethical.
If eBay evaluated every seller every 12 hours, someone would think that was unethical.
If eBay evaluated every seller every hour, someone would think that was unethical.
If eBay evaluated every seller every minute, someone would think that was unethical.
The only reason you went below standasrd is because you failed to act proactively. Below Standard is intended to be a severe punishment for failing to do so.
There is absolute no legitimate reason for this other than to squeeze another 30ish days of the extra 6% fees out of me.
Actually, I think the fees adjust on the first of the month following the evaluation, so that would be 40-ish days, not 30-ish days.

No offense but I don't think ebay really cares about you or your 6%.
I just call it bad luck.
It happens to all of us, especially me.
At ebay's next board meeting:
"I have great news. Net worth is up $3.2B -and- we we're able to squeeze another 6% in seller fees from @hyperviewgaming for the month of April."

·5 months agoeBay evaluates sellers on the 20th of every month. If your defects fall off on the 22nd, you have already been "locked in" to your Below Standard status for the current cycle.

If eBay were to employ enough agents to manually review and arbitrate every exceptional circumstance (or rather every circumstance that any one of its countless sellers thinks is exceptional, whether rightly or wrongly), you'd be payer higher fees all the time instead of for just the next month. Sucks but could suck worse. What'd you do the earn the defects anyway?

·5 months agoWhen you were first originally shown as below standard ebay also held off a month before charging you the higher penalty fees.

Because look-back windows vary—ranging from three months to a full year—it is more technically efficient for their systems to process these complex updates in a single monthly batch rather than for millions of accounts individually.
