David Yurman bracelet authentication question
I sell mostly vintage costume jewelry and try to stay away from fine jewelry. However, in the last lot I purchased from an auction, there was/is a David Yurman bracelet signed and marked 925/750. In searching Ebay sales, I find exact matches. Some of the sales note authentication guaranteed but not all.
In reviewing the authenticity guarantee, it looks like the bracelets meets several of the criteria: It is signed D.Y. For David Yurman, it has both sterling silver and 18K gold elements. Would it have to be listed for $500 or more to be eligible for the guarantee? I am a bit unclear on that point.
So, my question is: should a David Yurman bracelet go through the authentication process? It doesn't appear to be required ( if listed for less than $500) but I am unsure.
I would appreciate any advice before I try to list. Thank you.

·8 months agoIf you don't get your bracelet authenticated thru eBay you stand a chance that a buyer can claim it is not can claim it is a "fake DY" and you have no proof. Better off going through the process than being sorry - some counterfeiters are really good at their trade..

OP8 months agoI appreciate all the input and it has helped. I don't intend to list it as an auction but will list it for less than the $500 and see what happens. I prefer a make a quick sale and then let the buyer do as they wish.
I hope you all have successful year on ebay. Thanks for the replies. This board is an amazing resource and is much appreciated.

·8 months agoIn answer to your question I would just list it with good pictures and describe it as is. I don't know the approximate age which makes a difference. But you may have a diamond among the costume jewelry that you bought. I am excited for you. Great deal. If EBAY wants more they will let you know.

·8 months agoI think if it was on an auction for .99 there would not have to be authentication for the item...I think?
Would an auction hit over $500.+ I don't know.

OP8 months agoThank you, I did read through that and I got confused as to whether or not it is required. I think it is required if the asking price is $500 or more so I was just trying confirm that is correct.
I appreciate your response. Thank you again.

Yes, if you list it at $500 Or Best Offer, it will still be authenticated if you accept an offer of less than $500.
What matters is your list price must be at least $500.
