Dang Doral Florida Finally Got Me....
Well sold a $100 item a couple weeks ago and my husband packaged and sent out as I wasn't feeling well that day. I always look at address and feedback left and usually not a problem but since he usually doesn't send out he didn't even think about it. Definately FF and many problems there lately & 6 red donuts out of last 8 feedback left. 🤦â€â™€ï¸
I probably would have cancelled and chances are they would have neg'd me but at least I wouldn't be out the money and the item. For days it just says arriving late and last scan was at Miami. My only hope is it gets a delivery scan but should a case (INR or IND) be opened after a delivery scan, is procedure to refund then make ebay aware of the FF address or before? Never had a problem with FF before so not sure which way is policy.

·2 years agoUnder absolutely no circumstances would you be out of both the money AND the item.
The money was the buyer's to begin with, you would be out the item.
r_lresale
OP2 years agoYes I misspoke regarding the money. I essentially meant I'm out my cost for the item that I could recoup if I could get the item back and resell. My brain gets ahead of my thoughts quite frequently lol

·2 years agoIt may never get a delivery scan, that’s the issue. I would try to open a case asap, if you even can.

OP2 years agoI have never had any trouble sending to a FF and have not had a return from one that I can remember. I get Miami addresses and no problems but this is my first Doral and I have been keeping up with the problems there. I usually don't think ebay has a responsibility on these things, but the sheer amount of problems of no delivery scans needs to be addressed somehow.
robbie31415
·2 years agoI think the volume they are passing off in bulk and being lazy not making sure the delivery scans happen at pass off.
However it hurts small sellers, especially on eBay as almost all our protections are based on delivery scans. This goes beyond simply INRs, but unauthorized transactions chargebacks that eBay only provides seller protection if successful delivery has taken place.
Now I don't blame eBay for the USPS issues in Miami. EBay has no control.
However, eBay does have influence and connections.
Since this seems to impact multiple sellers it would be nice if eBay could contact one of their contacts at the USPS and have them take a look at Doral. Maybe get some additional training.
And people who says it's USPS and not eBay, that's true but eBay has stepped in multiple times to get things sorted at the local level.
One of those examples is ESE where loc POs would refuse it because they didnt understand the service. Ebay has helped get those local locafions trained.

So long as your package is scanned delivered, issues with freight forwarders usually surface after the fact. The most common is for the buyer to file "item not as described". While it is true you only have to send a label to the forwarder, it is BEST TO TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE YOU DO THAT.
Buyers that use freight forwarders give up the right to make Money Back Guarantee claims. eBay, however, unless you speak up for yourself, ignores that a forwarder was used and treats it like any other sale. So if your buyer should start the SNAD claim, contact eBay right away via one of their social media portals, and most often they will close the case in your favor on the spot. Use the blue message button on this page:

The following will give you the general outline of how a bad F.forwarder experience unfolds. You will notice that many of the seller victims were clueless about the situation in general and thus became victims of the second phase of the scam, FAKE TRACKING RETURNS:

Again, you might just be fine, but knowing in advance on what to do will save you plenty of time and aggravation. In addition, Doral is in Miami, most of those forwarder address regardless of the city designation are within blocks of each other. They have had Zip Code changes as well to provide "tax free" designations for exporting. Some users of these may still be using the OLD codes, but even an INR claim due to this, will fool no one but the eBay bot.

·2 years agoMy experience with FF:
--If there is a delivery scan, that means the item has been delivered. USPS notifies eBay, and "delivered" appears on my orders page.
--In there is an INR or IND, it's my understanding -- based on eBay's most recent emails to me about international shipping -- that eBay assumes all responsibility and will address any issues that crop up. Last year I received a message from a buyer in the Far East who wanted to return an item to me, but eBay promptly intervened and told me they would be handling the buyer's concerns. I never heard back.
Perhaps eBay picks and chooses who among sellers it will help in cases regarding FF / international sales?
I strongly suspect that that is indeed the case.
klhmdg
·2 years ago@fbusoni No, you are confusing 2 very different things - It is not the case.
Freight Forwarders are companies used by international buyers to have their items shipped to them.
The eBay seller ships just like any other US shipment to the address of the FF.
At this point once it is delivered it is "delivered" to the buyer since it it the address the buyer uses.
International shipping through eBay is EIS - this program the item is shipped to a US hub and organized and all customs paperwork done and sent on to the international buyer.
Once it reached the US hub, eBay assumes all responsibility.

·2 years agoIf an INR is opened, you only have to provide the tracking number - if it's delivered that should close the case. AFAIK, eBay doesn't care if it's a freight forwarder or not, so that's really moot as the package delay doesn't have anything to do with the FF itself - it just seems to be taking its time getting through Miami.
Give it a little more time - I've had a couple of packages really lag on delivery but they get there. Never any problems with freight forwarders themselves, though.
What you can do is open a tracking notification through the USPS site - I know this actually shouldn't bounce loose a package that seems stuck, but for some reason it seems to.
r_lresale
OP2 years ago@chapeau-noir Yes I'm hoping that it gets the delivered scan ASAP. Its only 1 or 2 days past EDD.
Lol not sure that would work either, but I will do it and cross my fingers really really hard.
chapeau-noir
·2 years agoI always say it can't hurt, and at least you'll be notified when there's movement. Good luck on this!
a_c_green
·2 years agoTracking notification requests do not -- repeat: do not -- have any effect on getting packages "unstuck." They simply speed up notification to you about an event that was going to happen anyway. The notification request sets a flag in the tracking history database record for that package, triggering your choice of either email or text notification whenever the tracking record gets an update.
What might actually help locate or move the package is a missing mail request, which triggers notifications to the last facility shown in the tracking record for somebody to account for its whereabouts.
chapeau-noir
·2 years agoI know this actually shouldn't bounce loose a package that seems stuck, but for some reason it seems to.
a_c_green
·2 years agoExcept that it doesn't. It cannot. It is just a flag in a database. What it seems to do is purely coincidental; it's an illusion. It even has a Latin term: the Post Hoc fallacy, or, more fully, "post hoc, ergo propter hoc," which translates to "after this, therefore because of this."
The scan you see in a notification was from a package passing under a scanner. The notification you requested was to a database that logs the scanning event. Requesting a notification is not going to have any effect on the package itself.
chapeau-noir
·2 years agoUgh - why am I being lectured on this? I already said that it shouldn't work but for some reason I've had notifications start up again when I've done it so why not. I already know it's illogical. (Please don't define 'illogical' for me, folks).
a_c_green
·2 years agoWell, because you keep propagating the notion as if it might work sometime, when it's physically impossible. There is nothing good in giving false hope to others, saying that it might work even though it shouldn't. It will not work because it doesn't.
Look, I'm all in favor of helping others, but this signing up for notifications is not going to help anything get "un-stuck." What can possibly work (and should be recommended) is to file the missing mail request as soon as it becomes available, because that is a service request that goes out to one or more locations and requires a response.
Signing up for notifications is also recommended, but only as a labor-saving device so that you don't have to keep manually logging in to see if there is anything new.
robbie31415
·2 years agoIf you mean missing mail search.
I would not recommend doing that ASAP.
For this situation the item most likely isn't stuck or missing.
It's a failure to scan which is common right now in Doral.
The help ticket goes straight to the PO responsible for delivery and they can manually override the tracking to post date delivery scan.
Also the help ticket typically gets response within 3 business days unlike missing mail search which can take ages to get a response.

·2 years agoIf you customer opens "did not receive item" case EBAY requires that you provide tracking# proving item was DELIVERED to Florida. Important thing is you must provide tracking# before EBAY deadline. If you don't provide "proof of delivery" before deadline (EBAY will automatically refund customer "take your funds" and also allow customer to "keep the item". Customer gets item for free.
