Customer wants refund
So, I sold a collectors game. Shipped everything in the box. Total price was 212. Apparently there is nothing in the case. What do I do from here. I know for a fact everything was in there

OP3 years agoThey buyer sent what they recieved back so I'm issuing a refund. But the problem is the package it's self was 8lbs n change. I just weighed it now and it's 6 pounds. So somewhere some how I was robbed

The seller included all the accessories inside the case, and they sold it without the game which their listing title says. The photo they included shows everything they claim to have shipped to the buyer... which is the accessories inside the case. The buyer is saying item arrived with no accessories inside the case. Perhaps the buyer did not realize there would be no game even though it says there won't be, and are now trying to get what would really be a remorse refund.

·3 years agoI’ve always followed the rule of write your listing description like you have no pictures and take pictures as if you have no description. The listing was lacking.
That said, these type items are scam magnets and well, the OP is being scammed with no recourse.
Might have been better to list the empty case separately and the accessories separately. Perhaps even the accessories each separate if the value warrants it.
With items like this it’s all about reducing your risk.

·3 years agoIf you sell higher priced items related to electronic gaming then you will eventually get scammed and that is probably what is going on here. Ebay will do nothing for you and you will be forced to refund. If you are lucky you might get the empty box back.

·3 years agoYour post is confusing. Your listing says empty box yet your post here says you shipped everything in the box and your picture shows stuff in the box.
Which is it? If that’s not the game shown in the box your listing should have described what WAS is the box, if the box was empty then your picture should have shown an empty box.
Refund and move on, if they have a not as described case you will be forced to refund.

OP3 years agoThe package sent comes with a case with collectors items in it. The case was completely empty. (Case was in the box). They got the case and nothing else inside of said case.

·3 years agoHas the buyer opened an official case with eBay? If so you need to respond to the case. If not have the buyer open one. Your item was listed as seller does not accept returns so you will need to specify when you reply to the case that you will offer a full refund upon return of the item. Do not refund before you have the item back.
Hopefully you have a receipt from the USPS that shows the weight of the item when USPS took possession of it. As @rfmtm mentioned see if you can get some cooperation from the buyer and ask them if there was any apparent tampering with the package before it arrived. When the package is returned you can expect it to be empty, weigh the package for comparison to what it weighted when you sent it and what it weighs when you get it back. Let the buyer know you will provide them with a copy of the USPS case just in case USPS needs to contact them.
As @rfmtm mentioned let the buyer know you are opening a case with the USPS into possible mail theft, yes it happens. Once you have the package back refund the buyer. If you do not eBay will automatically issue the refund.

I had a buyer claim I sent an empty box. I gave a link to the shipping service I used which said it was a 12 oz envelope (which definitely wasn't empty, although I can't prove what I sent).
He posted a negative in my feedback comparing me to satan. (And then said I sent coins of the wrong year... scamming so many people at once he doesn't know his rear end from his elbow).

·3 years agoIf they open a case, you'll have to refund. You can require a return, but as this could very well be a scam, you will probably not get the missing items back.

·3 years agoIf it was the empty box your sold, have them return it for a refund. If they claim there was no box/item in the package, then tell the buyer to please send pictures and to ask anyone in the household if they might have opened the box. Otherwise, tell them you will have to file a claim and request an investigation from the postal inspectors and their local police department into the matter and would they please cooperate with the investigation.
The above often makes things reappear. Otherwise, if buyer opens a return, accept it, and if nothing is returned and the case closed in their favor, you will in fact have to make a police report if you want ebay to consider your appeal.

OP3 years agoThe buyer states the box completely empty. That the only recieved the blue box with foam and no actual items from the collectors edition.

·3 years agoYou mean the buyer claimed the box was empty when they got it? Unfortunately it is your word against their word and eBay, unless you and who delivered it can come up with compelling proof it was delivered, will rule in favor of the buyer. Likely a scammer.
