Customer Ordered Wrong Item. Why Should Seller Pay Freight on Return ?
I sell Car Axles in lengths of 26" , 29" , 32'' , 35" and may more lengths. He ordered 26" so I shipped it. Freight cost is around $35.00. Later he removed his car axle and it measured around 26-7/8". HE is Returning and he said "DOESNT FIT". It was his mistake........not mine. Why am I responsible to pay the Freight Cost Back ?

·10 months agoAuto parts are high return rate products. Being in the auto parts business requires you have a business plan which allows you to profit while having to deal with the costs of returns.
Too hard a business for this person, but some find a way to make money in it.

·10 months agoI've toned down the amount of auto parts I sell due to eBay requiring free returns.
So many buyers do NOT do ANY research prior to purchasing.
They don't measure, use the fitment tool provided by eBay, cross reference part numbers or photos, ANY of that.
They think "well why should I have to lift a finger? Free returns!".
I get back a part that's been forced to fit, or all greasy and now must be sold as USED.
Then they complain I deducted from their return. Yes, because you took a new part and screwed it up because 2-3 minutes of research is beyond your attention span. I have to eat the loss of reduced value and pay for your return shipping.

I would venture to guess that in case you "missed the memo" on the new free returns for auto-parts, you have a place to come to find out why you are getting 'hosed'.

·10 months agoLikely, you are responsible for return shipping because your listing has "free returns".
eBay has been automatically changing all listings in Parts and Accessories to "free returns" based on their new policy:

·10 months agoBecause ALL your 'Auto Parts' listings state '30 Day Returns SELLER pays' as is required to sell in the Parts/Accessories on ebay, since Mid July with no foreseeable end in site.
Look at your listings.
