Could I get this negative removed?
The buyer left the following feedback (a few words changed to maintain anonymity) :
*** The item was advertised for a FX141 but was clearly too small for the specifications on the unit.
However, nowhere in my listing does it state FX141 at all.
I took this to removal for reasons:
- Meaningless content or images that aren’t of the item purchased
- Comments intended for a different item or seller
* My listing does not mention "FX141"
I wonder what my chances are.

·4 months ago"Buyer claimed the item did not fit. Buyer claimed the listing said it fit a "FX141". No where in the listing does it even mention a "FX141". Even though it was the buyer's error, I am still willing to refund the buyer if he returns the item."
That would make you look really good and the buyer look really bad.

Sorry to say but ebay does not usually use LOGIC when it comes to removing negative feedback.
I hope you get it removed.

OP4 months agoupdate: this morning I thought I'd give ebay @ instagram a try, and I was able to get it removed.
Same reason, my listing did NOT claim the tool for sale fits the machine the buyer claimed I said it would.
Sadly I suspect what happened is the buyer found my item under someone else's listing and wasn't paying sufficient attention... This happens all too often, I can be looking for a part for machine XYZ and I click on a result, go to the listing... Then I see down below "Similar Items" and I click on that but those are not necessarily 100% match.
I hate that particular system, I am certain that alone has led to many INAD returns and dissatisfied buyers (and sellers too).

·4 months agoWHat did you sell him, and what is an FX141?
broto_64
OP4 months agoIt was a tool to adjust a machine, the FX141 is a random number as the item is specific so any data gives it away. We're not allowed to promote here, also there is a reason I have a posting ID.

·4 months agoThis is ridiculous letting these Buyers leave Feedback based on Feelings. A long time ago a Buyer wanted to buy a Graphics card for his Computer from me. He didn't even have a Desktop Computer to put it in. I helped him out by explaining everything, what Hardware he would need to have, the dimensions and so on and so forth. He agreed he wasn't setup for it and he asked me if I could cancel his order, then he left me a neutral feedback which fell off after some time. After getting Free Technical Support on the House !
Even though I'm Top Rated Currently I have 4 Dings, All 4 Dings weren't my mistakes, they were the buyers. One Cut into Soft Top Jeep Doors with a Bowie Knife & I accepted the Return & Fully Refunded. It still counts as a Ding. I honestly should have Refunded Bupkis

OP4 months agoSame here, often buyers order the wrong part and then go on to say I sent them the wrong item...
But I didn't send the wrong item, I sent exactly what they ordered.
It's not my fault they can't look it up proper.
TL;DR
I've actually in the past discontinued an item because the problems of a nature were just constant.
Some of these buyers are actually competitors too... They're gaining the intel from us to be able to sell their counterfeit of our products, and to top it all off they incur upon us grief and extra expense.

·4 months agoThis is a classic situation where instead of returning the item for a full refund the buyer decided to leave a negative instead. You are unfortunately going to be stuck with the negative if you appealed and it wasn't removed. This buyer has a history of being unhappy and doesn't work with the seller. Yes just block this person and move on. Just respond to the feedback with what you just told us "Nowhere in my listing does it state FX141 at all."

OP4 months agoI stated in the reply that the item is part number ##### which is what they ordered and that is what we sent out, the item fits the applications specified by that part number.
I didn't say this next part but the real problem is the manufacturer of the machine that the tool fits has made a change requiring a NEW tool, however that part number is different... I am working on how to mention this in my listing without actually mentioning the model number of the changed machine because that will only get me more wrong orders (search engines don't distinguish what it can NOT fit), meanwhile I can't edit the listing because there's an offer out and I have to find out how to cancel that so I can go and edit it...
This whole thing's such a pita lol

I personally wouldn't list this item then if there is going to be a problem for buyers who will need to have a new tool required in order to install or get a part working. This leads to returns and unhappy buyers. It's not worth the hassle.

·4 months agoDon't expect EBAY to remove this customer's feedback (that is just customer's opinion and does not have to be factual). You can leave your "rebuttal response" or send the customer a "feedback revision request".
How to send a feedback revision request
If the feedback is less than 30 days old, you can ask your buyer to reconsider the feedback they left.
Request a feedback revision
You can make 5 feedback revision requests per calendar year. For every 1,000 feedback ratings you receive during the year, you can make 5 additional feedback revision requests.
What happens when you ask for a feedback revision
When you send a feedback revision request to a buyer, we'll send them an email with all the details.
The buyer then has 10 days to either:
If the buyer doesn't respond within 10 days, the revision request will expire. Remember, even disappointing feedback is just one person's opinion and won't affect your seller performance.

OP4 months agoYeah, they didn't remove it.
Buyer ordered the wrong item, I get the blame.
Wonderful.
I did review the buyer's feedback left for others and find they have left 6 negative OR neutrals out of a total of 33 FB's left so I have added this person to my BBL. Too bad the impact is minimal, 33 FB's over more than a year's time...

·4 months agoTry asking eBay on Instagram. You might get better luck there.
