Hi all,
2 items came broken, package insured. I need to file insurance claim with USPS. USPS needs copy of shipping label. How do I get it from eBay? TY

·1 month agoThere should be a drop down menu next to the item you sold listed as "actions". One option is "Get another label". It will take you to the shipping page with a notice in blue at the top, that you have already purchased a label for this item. One of the options is "reprint". You should be able to reprint one at no charge.

·1 month agoAre you the buyer? If so, the seller should file the insurance claim. He's the one who purchased the insurance and has all the information. Just keep wrappings, box, etc. in case he needs it.
In case you aren't aware, USPS is known for turning down insurance claims for damage, usually because they say the package wasn't packed well enough. You need to file a "return this item" claim through eBay for "item not as described" because it arrived damaged. The seller has to reimburse you and it's up to him to do the legwork on the insurance.

·1 month agoIf you are the seller go to seller hub, orders, shipping labels, all you really will need is the tracking number which should be on your orders page.
getting paid from USPS on a damage claim is a long shot, I do not even waste the time to file

OP1 month agoThanks for your reply. Yes, I'm the seller. I paid for extra ($200) insurance with eBay, but USPS says insurance is not covered with Ground advantage. EBay indicates $100 insurance is covered. Therefore, I paid extra in that fragile items were sold. My customer has 2 broken items of a set. Can I get eBay to pay me for the replacement of the broken items? Or can I get eBay to show that I paid for $200 insurance on the package? Greatly appreciate your thoughts. topwop99

·1 month agoIf you bought the added insurance through Shipcover, you file through eBay for that. I believe you collect 100 from USPS and then Shipcover pays the additional.
The hard part will be getting USPS to accept the damage claim, most get denied for inadequate packaging.

·1 month agoebay will not pay you for the broken items and the USPS very likely would not either, you have $100 in included insurance which is near useless for a damage claim.
Make sure you get the buyers claim taken care of on time
