Contacting ebay live agent
Summary: jnsdeals shared a concern about another seller demanding the removal of a listing, claiming to represent a company associated with the item. They emailed the company's support to verify the claim but faced difficulty contacting eBay directly. caldreamer and others suggested that the request might be dubious, recommending checking the brand’s authorized seller policies. zakstreasuretrove and pickapaper suggested possible competitive interference while luckythewinner explained that eBay's VERO program procedures could be involved. mam98031 provided detailed advice on how to contact eBay's customer service for further assistance.
I received a message from another seller stating that they are a representative of a company of one the item i have listed. This account is telling me to pull my listing. I have sent an email to the company's support department requsting to verify if this seller on ebay is actually genuine one of their representative. At the same time I am not able to reach out to ebay regarding this issue. I also wanted to contact ebay to confirm this. How or where would I be able to connect with a live agent of ebay to discuss this situation.
Thank you

·1 week ago@jnsdeals "...I am not able to reach out to ebay regarding this issue." Because you are not aware of HOW to contact Ebay does NOT mean you can't contact Ebay. It only means you don't know how.
At the top and bottom of every page in Ebay are links to contact Customer Service.
There is not just one way to contact Ebay and there has always been multiple ways to get in touch with them. I hope you will save this information as it can come in handy from time to time. At the very bottom is a link in which you can request Ebay to call you.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT or ask an Agent to call you, in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

From this link you can request Ebay to call you in the USA. The option is available when Staff is available to respond, so NOT 24/7/365.

·1 week ago · EditedThere is really nothing for eBay to do.
eBay cannot tell you if that seller legimitimately represents the company or not.
eBay grant you immunity from legal action from that company.
eBay cannot determine whether you are violating the intellectual property rights of that company.
I am a VERO member who represent a handful of music artists, and I often send an eBay message to a seller asking them to take down an infringing item before I subject that seller to a formal VERO takedown request. I appeciate it when they do, and it is a quick win/win for both of us. If they don't, they get reported to VERO.
But IMHO, the findamental question is not about the request - but rather about whether your listing is a violation of someone else's intellectual property rights.

OP1 week agoWould i be able to provide a link here for you to look at the listing and tell me if I have violated any policies? As I dont want any conflict. As I have genuine bought the item for resale, and they are new in their packaging.
pickapaper
·1 week agoDo as the others have said. Sounds like a competitor just trying to bully you.

·1 week agoStrange that another seller is trying to enforce eBay policy. Kindly advise them to go through the proper channels (eBay), which should be easy for them if they are legitimate. I would also block them and wait to hear official word from eBay to remove the listing before taking any other action.
Besides, eBay would likely take the listing down and notify you that they have done so rather then telling you to take it down and hope you comply.
None of this situation makes sense other than a competitor trying to mess with you. I would even report them for good measure.

·1 week agoIt does not sound like the seller is trying to enforce eBay policy. It sounds like they are trying to protect a company's intellectual property rights. But without knowing the nature of the item or seeing the listing, it is impossible to know.
As I posted in another messahe on this thread, I do this as a polite warning before masking a formal VERO takedown request.

·1 week agoInteresting to know. If I got a message like that I would do as I stated above. However, I sell 99.9% used items. It would be super uncommon for me to have something like a new and sealed PS5 or, in your field, a bunch of new and sealed music CD's.

·1 week agoVery odd that another Seller claim to be representative of a corporation and demand you remove this item. Normally, you would get a threatening letter from their attorney.
Some manufacturers only allow "authorized dealers" to resell their products. What is the brand name of this product?
jnsdeals
OP1 week agoThe brand name is Coslus. Do you know if there a list somewhere of brands that only authorized dealers to resell their products? I dont want to cause any conflict.
caldreamer
·1 week agoI just Google "do you need to be an authorized dealer to sell Coslus brand". Answer came back "no".
