I need to contact cs for some real help and was wondering what experiences other sellers have had.

·1 year agoI just had great luck in the chat on eBay with cs rep. Admittedly it did take a little while but it worked. First you'll get cs in India but if you keep trying to explain the common sense to them about your problem you will eventually get a rep from the US and then maybe they can understand.
I had a problem with a tiny gun from a small GI Joe action figure, that everyone else can list, but not me because AI thought this was an actual gun even though the listing says 2" long. It's a process and sometimes it's really not worth the effort unless you have a bunch and they are worth listing.
Only other thing I can say is have a ton of patience and GOOD LUCK because eBay is really hard for sellers with stuff like this and if it's not worth it just pass on listing it.

OP1 year agoI read your thread about the GI JOE tiny toy gun and was rolling my eyes! You would think a supervisor from trust & safety would have a grasp on things and know the difference between a used fragrance and one that is factory sealed in cellophane w/ UPC code and VALID batch code. I took the advice of others on this forum and sold the items elsewhere and for less fees and zero promotions -- the 4300.00 sold in approx 5 days. I only had so much patience & time spent on all this nonsense -- I am a full time PhD candidate working on my dissertation research. I am financing my education through selling on several platforms I guess it was too small of a monetary amount for eBay to care.

·1 year agoI prefer Facebook, but if listings were removed by ebay, I would just leave it alone.

OP1 year agoDid you read my update? The cs on X was great and responded in less than 10 mins. They could not find any removed listing and had trust & safety call me. They thought that I reported my own listings and even sent me emails stating that they could not find anything wrong with these listing and therefore they are NOT removing them. Since I had to wait over a month for a response regarding the appeals I filed ( of which eBay also has no record, but I supplied them with screen shots) I sold all the merch ( 4300.00) elsewhere in several days. Less fees, no promotions -- a real eye opener. Left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing. As @magicjohnsonsvariety said so eloquently !!!!

·1 year agoIt's sad that any communication with ebay staff is a total clown show. You've been here since 2006...I started selling on my wife's account way back in 1999.
Ebay wasn't much better back then but it's only gotten a lot worse.
I hate to be negative, but I've seen and experienced it all...

OP1 year agoI agree! I'm part of a private seller's group and the the stories I am receiving in my DMs 😞. Thank you again for your commiseration.

·1 year agoHow the heck could you possibly know that. Do you review everyone's communications with Ebay staff. I get so tired of someone that has had a bad experience with Ebay for one thing or another to turn around and try to make it seem as if this is what ALWAYS happens. It is NOT.
While there are issues with CSR's giving bad advice or no advice, there are also plenty of times they are very helpful. You have every right to be unhappy with any service or lack of service that you have received, but to make it seem as if it is the normal for everyone is simply ridiculous and weakens your concerns since you clearly over embellish the situation.

·1 year agoIs it a Mentor's job to twist words around and Nit pic small tiny details in how others write???
Talk about going OFF TOPIC.
The OP question asked what experiences other seller have had?...I gave him my advice and opinion and he Thanked me for doing so.
"Any communication I have had with ebay staff is a total clown show"
There...is that better?

I'm sorry you have had such awful experiences with Customer Service. Typically on Social Media it is much better.
magicjohnsonsvariety
·1 year agoI understand that and i respect what you do. You usually offer good advice.
It's not just me but everyone in my circle has experienced poor service at one time or another.
It will never make any sense to me why members even should need to go off ebay site for the "much better" CS?...

UPDATE:
So, I contacted cs on X. I received a response within mins. saying they could not find any listings removed nor could they find any appeals. They said they would have someone from trust & safety call me. In 24 hrs, I received a reply to all my appeals: each email said they have closed the case since they found NOTHING wrong with the listing that I reported. This is absolutely INSANE! As if I would report my own listings?????
Within an hour after I received all these emails, someone from trust & safety did call me. She could not find any removed listing, any appeals and I had to send her screenshots of all the emails I received that said they couldn't find anything wrong with these listings. WTH, right??? She said she would have to get in touch w/ IT. So, it's been 5 days and crickets.
Meanwhile, I listed everything that was taken down elsewhere and 90% sold in 5 days with less fees. Due to all the disorganization and chaos on eBay's part , they lost out on 4300.00 of sales. A small amount, but still......
Thanks to everyone who replied.

·1 year agoOn each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.
https://twitter.com/askebay
https://www.facebook.com/ebay
https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

·1 year agoIt's sad to think of what happened to Twitter - it was the chronicle of the Arab Spring...where Occupy fronted their best writing during a time of resistance and struggle, it was daily updates from the greatest news organisations around the world. Now it's just a steaming pile.

·1 year agoThey may be all the same just using different social channels, but the people on Facebook were of NO help whatsoever, and rude. The situation was counterfeit accusation for my direct from manufacturer product) based on an unattributed (and very badly done) YouTube video. Basically "If they say it was counterfeit, then of course we're going to pull it!"
My feeling is that there is no help for this kind of situation. I sold the products elsewhere.
sassykzt
OP1 year agoMany thanks for your insight!
AI said they were being removed since they were" used " and not in "original containers" . These were sealed in cellophane, direct from manufacturer w/ receipts provided, 10 ml travel sized fragrances. They were listed as new w/ box. All 5 pics showed the sealed box. So, I have no idea why they were removed other than a blatant error. I'm in a seller's group where 20+ sellers have experienced this same-- we are chatting about it now. No one has heard about their appeal in 4- 6 wks. The overseas cs can't help, so I thought I might contact a US based cs rep.
magicjohnsonsvariety
·1 year agoI've also had legit product removed...all sellers have if u sell enough, and has been an ongoing issue for decades.
You say you had the same problem last year, and you will again over and over.
Because even if you do somehow get approval from a staff member to relist them, they will eventually be removed again because ebays left hand doesn't know what ebays right hand is doing...

·1 year agoI would still give Facebook or Xitter (or insta) a go - you might get a smarter rep than I got and it won't hurt. I probably would have taken it further (I did inform the rep that that YouTube had no provenance at all - it's why I brought it up as absolutely no proof) but I only had a couple of jars of this stuff left to sell and was finding the market to be a real pain in the azz, anyway, so I dropped it. It appears that you're more of a specialist dealer in fragrances and this could become really a serious problem, so it's worth pushing over it.

·1 year agoCaveat: I have never used any of them
While some people have insinuated that there is a difference I'm pretty sure that you get the exact same csr's at FB, X or Instagram.
Customer Service is like a box of chocolates..........

·1 year agoThere are many, many seasoned sellers here. Perhaps, we could help?

OP1 year agoI need a cs agent that could look into a few appeals on listings removed by AI for the past 4 wks. I filed the appeals and haven't heard anything for 3 wks. I was told by overseas cs that an appeal takes about 48 - 72 hrs. They said someone would get back to me, but of course no one contacted me. He did say that he has received many calls regarding the same problem that I have, yet he can do nothing to help me. It's peculiar, every Friday for the past month 5 - 5:15 PM EST, I have been experiencing the removal of listings for completely idiotic reasons. I appeal them but receive zero response. UGH!
magicjohnsonsvariety
·1 year agoNothing good can come from asking ebay to reinstate your alleady removed listings. Even if they allow them now they will eventually remove them again later...and with possible repercussions for your selling account.
Just move them somewheres else...
sassykzt
OP1 year agoThey were removed by AI -- for completely nonsensical reason. I has this issue last year and a US Based cs rep thru chat was able to get them reinstated and have sold 100+ of each listing.

·10 months agoI've received and was charged an enormous amount for an item I did NOT order. How did the seller get my mailing address and my credit card number? I no longer trust ebay after this scam and will not order from ebay again.

Does it show up in your Purchased items?
https://www.ebay.com/mye/myebay/purchase
No seller has access to ANY of your financial information on Ebay. NONE of us. We can't see it when a buyer pays nor does a seller have any ability to access the information. Ebay has this info well protected. So this is not a matter of trusting Ebay. If you see that this purchase shows up in your purchases, you may want to consider someone that knows how to get into your account may have used it. I see you have purchased things recently, but maybe someone you know has something to do with this specific purchase.
PLEASE know, your seller did NOT do anything wrong. Someone purchased it using your information. Now you just need to figure out who that someone is.
In the meantime File a Request for Return. If you want, send me a private message from the envelope icon at the top of the page on the right side. You can give me the seller information there without issue and I will be happy to help you through this problem.
