Contact information sharing policy
I'm not sure what to do in order to list what I'm selling. They seem to have striked it down twice. First by AI.
I kind of have to list my correct address for returns to work....
and I'm not selling outside ebay so I'm confused. is it the links to asus website and faq for support? I copied them from the box.

OP1 year agoI'll try listing my other thing I need to sell, but it will turn out like this. Should I just not take pictures, add any discription? fill in any listing details?
What kind of listing would that be? That' won't be a listing at all!
I don't understand what ebay did wrong and I'm now convinced I did nothing wrong.
Any other listings will be flagged as the same thing most likely if I don't have any actuall feedback at what is going wrong with the process of creating this listing.

OP1 year agoSimply repeating what the emails say is apparently enough to be accused of it now apparently.
Point out to where I did something wrong and how can I fix it.

·1 year agoYes: You have 'refer to www.asus.com for cpu support list' under the CPU heading. I would definitely get rid of that URL. Ebay does not want to see any third-party websites mentioned.

OP1 year agoIs that the only thing I missed.
I can't repeal the second policy violation, I can revise the listing but I can't make it public.
I can make a third listing but I don't know if this edit is actually the culprit. I want to make certain this is the oversight flagging the listings.
I can't believe I havn't seen that.

Well... we know the mention of a third-party website is a violation and one that can be automatically detected by the screening software. So that fix right there is a no-brainer. If there are any other issues they might be more subtle.

OP1 year agoWell, this is the second policy listing I tried to repeal.
I'm not going to ttry again until I can get a human agent to talk to.
It's definently automated. There isn't anything I could see that was a violation on my side.

OP1 year agoFor now my account has two account policy violations. I guess I'll contact support this weekend and see what's the real problem.

·1 year agoThe real problem is simple, by your own admission.....
1 - You included your personal contact information in the listing
2 - You included a link to a non-eBay website in your listing
Both of these are blatant policy violations, it doesn't matter that your intentions were "pure".
The solution is simple, don't do what you did in the past. Put your return address information in the proper place (Account Settings, Addresses) and don't ever include non-eBay links in your listings (clickable or not).
As far as the existing violations, you just need to live with them for the next 12 months and don't get any more. If you can manage that then you will be fine.

You're simply being abusive with the accusatory language.
it's up to ebay to prove I have.
The latest revision I made is still flagged as the same thing. You can judge it for yourself if I did. But you are being unreasonable as ebay autmated system when you say that.
So here
History will exonerate me of any made up policy violations.

OP1 year agoThis appeals process just does not work. So how many policy violations can I have in total.
I think I'm just going to give up on selling anything. I don't know what to do with this stuff I can't use.
This item I brought months ago past the return date, I want to sell it. Cant do that, what do I do????

·1 year agoWe cannot see what that might be showing you because we are not logged in as you, and Case ID 2-196552112569 is your case and not ours. (If I click on that link, I just get an empty eBay form. If I change its Case ID number to anything else, I get the same empty form.)
If you are seeing something important there, tell us exactly what it says (or post a screenshot if it will not reveal private info).
If all you are seeing is that "Appeal submission failed" notice that you showed in your second reply above, then something else has gone wrong. Your appeal was not denied; it failed to go in. You might want to verify that you are properly logged in to your eBay account and that you have no other windows open.
Keep in mind, though, that there is no point in wasting an appeal if nothing has changed, because you will simply get the same decision again. If you are filing an appeal, you need to be bringing something new to the table.

It fusterates me that theres the line
"More specific details are provided below" and line break and then it says "what to do next"

·1 year agoYou shouldn't relist without figuring out why you're getting a policy violation. If you continue getting those, eventually your account will be suspended, possibly permanently.
Start from scratch, don't use anything from the previous listing. Make sure there is nothing that could be construed as contact information or outside links. Put nothing more than the bare minimum essential information into the listing.

I've provided feedback on my purchases.
I can still log in to my account.
Planning on making two other listings and more if I could wrap my head around what I did wrong.

·1 year agoThis is another case of that weird Khoros glitch where the View Listings link contains an old or different user ID for the OP. This link is fixed manually:

·1 year agoReturns are done through eBay when a case opened. That is the time for sharing your contact info so the buyer can print a return label. That is the only appropriate time. Any listing with a link, address, phone, email, etc will be removed and you could be suspended.

All the information the buyer needs should be in your description.

·1 year agoNever include anything that is or even appears to be a phone number, email address, website, or physical address. There is no need for you to include your return address, or links to the ASUS website, and as you're finding out, it will block you from listing the item or result in the listing being taken down.

OP1 year agoI try not to give a address and I got " Looks like something is missing. Please fix any issues and try again.
and when my description says "see images for details" it's the images in listing.
I've used Scrambled EXIF version 1.7.13 to get rid of any location data from my photos in the listing.

What is the item location you're putting into the settings at the bottom of the listing form? That's a specific field it's referencing there.

I revised it after it was flagged once to a fake one because I thought that was were the policy violation was.
the fake one is 20960.
Do I need a P.O. box for this stuff?

OP1 year agoCan you check and see the images in the messages I posted above to see if anything that you're saying is applicable to my case?
I think I trust your judgement a litttle better than ebay's automated flagging system.

·1 year agoI don’t see anything standing out as an issue, but I would remove your description entirely and instead just put a 1-2 description of the condition. You should also get rid of the special characters in the title, like the parentheses, as they only hurt searchability and won’t help you.

·1 year agoYou have to put all of your contact information and mailing addresses on your account when you set it up to sell. You DO NOT put any personal information into a listing. It's all generated by ebay for you when you purchase something or have a return. That's why it is not allowing you to add a listing. Just put a detailed description of the product you are selling and some good photos of it.
