Confused on how some offers work
Usually, I send an offer, they accept and it's paid immediately. Or, they send an offer, i accept and Ebay bills them immediately. But, i have a situation where I sent offer, they countered and I accepted their counter offer. It isn't paid, it isn't showing awaiting payment. When I click on the item, it shows the offer accepted with the buyer to pay within 4 days. The item is still active. Why are some done differently?

·1 year agoThis is an absolute nightmare. I have over 750 listings I could send an offer out on to potential buyers, but as there is no option to combine shipping due to this, i'll avoid this headache for now.
I contacted customer service a few weeks ago, explained the situation thorougly over several replies and got eventually ignored. They simply stopped replying to my questions.
I'd suggest more people contact them to complain. This should be optional for sellers.

·1 year agoThat's just how they're done now. It's still available for any/all until your buyer pays for it. Hang in there, or cancel after 4.

It won't. Now when a SELLER sends an offer there is no longer an "accept" button for the buyer. If you happen to send the buyer more than one, they have to pay separately for each one they want or simply decline or ignore them. There is no option to combine items for one shipping price for SELLER generated offers now that eBay removed the "accept" feature.
The same scenario applies when a seller "accepts" a counter offer. The buyer may see that you accepted their offer under bids/offers or the like on their MY EBAY page, but it will remain for sale until somebody pays for it. If the buyer, in this instance doesn't pay, you cannot file the unpaid item cancellation after 4 days as you used to. As another tool in eBay's shed supposedly to cut down on non-payers, this one is laughable.
Neither SELLER generated offers nor SELLER accepted counter offers will be auto-billed.
