I'm a small reseller of comic books here on eBay. Been selling here for 24 years now. Not since around 2007/2008 have I cracked $1000.00/month in sales. Now I'm in my worst ever selling month which occurs every year - August. Below is screenshot taken 08.09.26. I've watched this listing views number go down since about the end of June. I recall this number to be around 6900-something. I log into eBay every day. Over the last 6-7 weeks it's gone down to 5182. Of course, the sales reflect that. As of 08.09.26 I had one sale back on 08.03.26. The total of that sale was $17.97 - this includes shipping and sales tax. With shipping paid out, sales tax taken out and the fees, I am left with $7.75. For this item is decent and made a small profit. I presume listing views is somewhat being controlled by eBay. Of the 1181 items I currently have listed I must have nothing that anyone wants to buy. Last year in the Quarter 4, I had everything promoted with ads, but at a low 3%, 4% or 5%. eBay recommends 12%. I saw maybe a slight increase in sales, but still never cracking $1000/month. $800 to $900 was where it peaked. This past week I started promoting some items. Items I've had for years. It takes a little time to manifest, but I'm stuck trying to figure out how to increase that listing views number and making daily sales instead of once a week. Since I'm not making enough money, I am unable to spend on additional on or off eBay advertising.
Any other comic book resellers encountering similar issues? If not, what are your strategies on making sales?
