·4 months agoI suggest the problem isn't so much "high-resolution" (the images are already umpty-megabytes in size) as focus. There's a definite visual difference between kinda-sorta focused and crystal-clear sharpness.
I would try using a mini-tripod or clamp with an exposure timer delay so you're not actually holding/touching the phone when it takes the picture. I use a 20-year-old Canon PowerShot A540 for my own listing photos with a tripod and a 2-second shutter delay, and it can deliver a super-sharp image with barely 1 megabyte of pixel data.

You can either check the resolution and compare to quality recent cameras, or you can take pictures and look at the results.

·4 months agoHmm... not sure I agree with that. I take my listing photos with an ultra-cheap, free smartphone—and it's Android at that....😁
I have taken pictures with it that have even been published in the local newspapers.
So, a cheap smartphone takes pictures that are good enough for eBay and most things.
If I wanted to go beyond just taking pictures for eBay, then I’d invest in a camera and some professional gear.
