Clearing out a shed
A friend has passed away unexpectedly, leaving his wife with a shed full of tools and electrical equipment, all in good condition, which she wants to clear. Is there an agent or professional seller who could help her? We live near Oxford UK.

·6 months agoYes its a franchise chain of shops that operates under UK pawn broker laws and regulations, it also offers finance on purchases from the shops at very high interest rates and lends to people with low credit ratings.

·6 months agoIn the US, we have garage sales/estate sales/yard sales. Is there an equivalent in the UK?
Cash Converters sounds like a very good option as well.

·6 months agoNot so much that I have noticed anyway.
I guess the nearest I've come to a "yard sale" was when I put a table by my gate and my young niece put all her unwanted toys on it. She did managed to sell several to passing school children so she was happy with that.

·6 months agoI am UK, sometimes around here we have a town sale, people register on FB and on a particular day sell stuff from there garden/drive/garage, people who want to buy have to contact the FB operator to get a list of the homes that are doing it and pay a small fee towards charity for the list of places.

·6 months agoFor the last couple of large electrical items I sold (in the UK), I simply took them to a Cash Converters shop.
I found for large (like TV's) and heavy items (like some tools) after taking fees, postage, etc and pitfalls into consideration (if sold on ebay), I was getting a similar or better price than I would have got on ebay. Plus it was cash in hand.

·6 months agoThats what I thought, cash converters, they also sell on here, its probably the best way becasue your friend wont want any comeback from numpties, the other thing is given there personal circumstances it wouldnt be wise to use FB marketplace or bumtree and have unchecked callers to there home!!!!!!
