If you use the basic all selling page: https://www.ebay.com/mys/overview you cannot change fixed price to auction from that page. You will need to end the listing, make your change to auction and then relist (or do sell similar if you desire).
If you use the seller hub: https://www.ebay.com/sh/allselling/listings Check off the box next to the listing, and from the actions menu at the top select "change to auction". On the next page, check the box next to the listing, and at the top select format and duration under "edit fields". Set your auction time. Click "save and close" Next, under edit fields select "price, quantity, best offer". Set your starting price, click save and close. At the bottom of the screen select "submit all". (It sounds like a lot to do, but it really isn't.)
you need to cancel the sale then go to your unsold items and list again. be careful to change the price from auction to buy it now because this does not automatically occur
@frodobagginskennedy His way it the only way. It does not cost a listing fee to do that. You get 250 for free. The OP needs to cancel the listing the hit sell similar then change to auction.

- click the Edit button next to your item
- go to "Actions" drop down box and change to auctions.

·3 years agoOr he could "end the listing" (no cost) and sell similar through the Ended listings. That allows him to choose auction.
He can also change it through the Active Listings; check the Edit box; then go to Actions drop down box and change to auction.

·3 years agoYou are correct. That is why I said to end the listing and choose sell similar. Not all items can be changed using the edit button.
