Cedar chest removed from listing
I had a cedar chest removed from listing that had the lock removed. Called ebay and was told that even if the lock is removed they are still not allowed because they were recalled years ago. There are over 200 active listings on right now for cedar chests, some of them even bragging in the titles about their locking tops!!!
What the hell???

I understand your frustration but EBAY has to protect themselves from any liability. Maybe you can sell your cedar chest locally.
You sound like a nice lady so I wanted to warn you that you may be "losing money" with $2 price on collectible plates (heavy item). I live in California and shipping is $12. EBAY sellers fees based on ($2 collector plate+ $12 shipping + $1.40 sales tax). You pay fees on total $15.40 plus 30 cent handling charge. Better if you combine several items to get sale price up to $25 (there will be some "meat left on the bone" after paying fees.

·3 years agoeBay policy enforcement has never been comprehensive, accurate, or timely. And eBay is not going rely on your word that you have solved a recall issue.
Remember that everyone whose listing was taken down before yours probably complained that yours had not been removed yet.

·3 years agoI assume this is from the "Lane" and "Virginia Maid" recall? eBay won't look at whether or not the latch has been removed - they'll just take the listing down. I suggest not relisting it.
