CD Listing - UPC input Changed?
Summary: frontroguy noted a change in the placement of the UPC Code field on CD listings, which now requires clicking 'show more' to access. This shift impacts their listing process, as they use UPC codes for autofill features to save time. mam98031 questioned the significance of the change, explaining that eBay searches titles and item specific boxes automatically. However, frontroguy clarified that the new placement makes it slower to initiate UPC scanning and affects their workflow efficiency.
Hello,
I noticed about a month ago that the placement for the UPC Code on a CD Listing has changed from the 1st thing under additional items (so 1st thing after Title and Artist) to the last thing, and in fact you have to click on "show more" just to get the UPC option to pull up. I use the UPC code to pull up info when eBay has presets in (it iwill autofill some information artist/title label genre depending on what is already saved in there) - I should note, that I have saved templates, so that is my starting point for these listings.
I kinda figured it was just a temporary thing, but does not appear to be that way. Anyone have intel on that?
Thanks in advance

·2 weeks agoWhy does the position matter? I'm not sure I understand. Ebay search automatically searches the title of listings as well as the ISBs [item specific boxes]. So if the UPC is there in the ISBs, the search engine will find it.

OP2 weeks agoIt matters, as I can either type all of the information in, or I can scan the UPC and 50% of the time it will self fill most of those ISB's. So, it takes longer to get to the point where I can enter the UPC and see if I need to fill things in my self, or it will self fill. It takes more time to list.
Why the change?

·2 weeks agoI get what you are saying and I understand it, but what has that got to do with the POSITION in the ISBs that the UPC shows? As long as you are entering the UPC in the box that is preset to be used for the UPC, you should be getting the information you desire IF Ebay has the information available. Again, the position of the UPC in the ISB order has nothing to do with this info missing for you UNLESS you are not putting the UPC in the PREDESIGNED box for the UPC.
