Can't promote listings

Hello. I have only been selling on eBay for a few weeks. I was previously able to promote my listings, but now, I click "Promote Listing" and then click again to confirm and pay, but nothing happens and the listings stay not promoted. It has been this way for about a week. How do I fix this?

@valueaddedresource Did you see ^ their last reply? Interesting. Maybe you could suggest it to one or two of the other people you've seen report this and ask them to report back if the promotion sticks after doing it in revision, then tell us if it worked? I don't ask for much, do I? ðŸ¤£
As I've said I'm really fond of this particular feature and don't want it to go away.

@gurlcat I know one of the other sellers said they had tried revising one item 3 times and still couldn't get the promotion to stick, but I'll let you know if I hear of anyone else having better luck.

@azhdarchid - glad you were able to get it to work! Hopefully this is just a temporary technical issue. ðŸ¤ž

For everyone experiencing the same problem as me - I have found a fix. I can promote a listing when I revise it.

Thank you all for your help in trying to solve this problem.

(Also not a "he", for the record.)

I just wonder if it isn't "not enough activity". I realize OP says he's done PL before, but sure looks like he's pretty much of a newbie............

@dhbookds it's a good thought, and certainly might be what's going on here but I have to wonder...if someone isn't an "eligible" seller because they don't have enough activity, does eBay still provide the option to promote on the listing page?

You can promote your auction-style listings when creating or editing a listing, from the Promote it banner, or from the item menu.

If your item is eligible, youâ€™ll see an option to use Promoted Listings Express in the following places:

Creating or editing a listing

Depending on eligibility, youâ€™ll see an option to promote your listing while creating a new listing or right after listing an item. You may also see an option to promote your listing when editing an item

My eBay Selling Overview and Active pages

Select the Promote it banner on top of eligible listings on the My eBay Selling Overview and Active pages to promote your listing

Item menu

On the My eBay Active page, when you click on the menu next to your item, eligible listings will have an option to Promote listing

Thanks @dhbookds - "Depending on eligibility, youâ€™ll see an option to promote your listing while creating a new listing or right after listing an item".

That's what caused me to ask the question, seems to me that would mean if you aren't eligible, you wouldn't see it but...this is eBay, so logic may not apply. ðŸ˜‚

I've seen a few complains of this popping up recently in the community and across social media as well for both US and UK sellers, here's another one:

Everyone I've seen report this issue says basically the same thing - the option to use PLExpress is still there when creating a listing, but when they select it, it's like it doesn't "stick"....they don't get charged the fee and when they look at the active listing in Seller Hub, it shows it is not promoted.

I know eBay Germany is discontinuing Promoted Listings Express effective this week, but there has been no announcement for any other sites yet, so I wouldn't think that should be causing this issue?

Did you possibly fall Below Standard? I believe you have to meet certain criteria, but I'm on my way out the door & don't have time to look it up, perhaps someone else will know. I believe that if you are Below Standard, you are not eligible.
