Should we continue to report them via the flag.......or just "archive" the messages....for those that can figure out how......????? Some info would be helpful........
The problem is that message will appear to newbies.....who don't know what's going on........they will post on the board what is it? which will have to be explained and then we have to explain the appearing/non appearing 3 dots on the right....to report..... I guess the thought is that the "evil" message senders will get quit sending when they no longer get hits on the removed link.........but hanging up on the myriad of phishing phone calls hasn't worked for me and I doubt the bad link will work either.
At the very least, we need an easy way to report.......it took me 3 questions/answers to find those 3 dots.....and that's been a repeated experience of others. @devon@ebay
Hey @dhbookds ! Yes, please continue to flag these messages for us and we have rolled out some additional security measures as well as work with our internal Security team to help block the creation of these spam accounts.
Thanks @devon@ebay .........good to know........how about making it easier to "find" the report button on messages..........??? the necessity to "hover" and the dimness of the 3 dots threw me and others..........

OP1 month agoI think we have to report them just to be active on that front. You never know when one of them may break whatever security norms and be a threat.

·1 month agoIn an attempt by eBay to prevent people getting hooked by Phishing messages sent through the boards they are stripping any links from the messages.
First they just shut down the DM system, when people complained about that they reinstated the DM system but are blocking the links.

OP1 month agoMakes sense.

·1 month agoAs I understand it part of the alleged fix, for this problem, is the removal of any links in DM's.
