cancelling a listing
I've been trying to cancel a listing for two weeks now and I keep getting offers. I cannot figure out how to cancel on you web site. I Plug in my item number 185817180023 and it doesn't recognize it. I keep getting offers and now there's a dispute. HELP!!

OP3 years agoI really appreciate your help. I click on the "respond to dispute link" and all I get are two choices, of which neither choice is applicable. 1: Challenge the dispute by proof of delivery and 2: Accept the dispute and auithorize them to take the funds out of my account. Neither of these responses apply to this and there is no where to go from there.
I tried to follow Dirks step by step but I can't even find the "Sellers Hub" How do I get there for starters?

·3 years agoIf the buyer never paid, then there's no dispute to be responded to. Maybe the OP should have cleared that up sometime between 8:05 and 8:08.

·3 years agoThat's sort of what I figured. The Op is concerned about where the money comes from to refund
the buyer.
The OP needs to determine,
1) Did the buyer pay ebay for the Machine?
2) If the buyer paid, Is the money sitting in the OPs account still on hold?
He need s to find his seller hub and answer himself those questions.
Is the OP receiveing messages from ebay about this transaction? What do the message say?

·3 years agoThis is what you need to do. The funds ARE in your account but just aren't available to new sellers immediately.
Click on "accept the dispute" and refund the buyer.

Oh, yeah... this one ^^^ applies here. YOU DON'T HAVE IT... YOU NEED TO REFUND THE BUYER.
IF you were able to cancel the order (as advised upthread)... you'd be returning the funds paid by the buyer and eBay would be looking to you for the $.30 Transaction Fee, additionally.
IF the buyer has opened a dispute with their CC, approve it and refund. If this is the case, you might be on the hook for the $.30 plus $20 to the CCC.
Either way, you botched this one and ARE on the line for a refund... issue it.

OP3 years agothanks again, I agree I botched it since I haven't ever used E-Bay before. Their website and indicators are not very user friendly. (my humble opinion) I'll be glad to pay any fees to E-Bay for penalties or whatever.

3) Buyer paid ebay
4) eBAy has money
5) You cancel
6) ebay refunds buyer.
7) If buyer has not paid, Money is not an issue other than
the money you will owe ebay

When you do what I advised upthread, eBay will automatically refund from your funds on hold. You'll only be out the $.30 Transaction Fee... make sure you have a payment method on file for the $.30. Easy peasy. Good luck.

·3 years agoSlight correction to @mtgraves7984 's post. I believe that if the full amount of the refund isn't available to send to the buyer as a refund, ebay will go to your backup funding source for the entire amount. I don't think they split refunds.

If so, you did sell it and I suspect were paid and need to ship it. It's not an active listing, It's an item you have sold to a buyer. The dispute would be they paid for it and you never shipped it. Also I don't see you shipping it for the amount you charged. More like 300 dollars I suspect.
You need to either ship or refund the buyer. Looks like you took your first jump before learning how to put on your parachute.

OP3 years agoNo, I’ve cancelled the listing , or at least tried and I still kept getting offers and now a dispute. I gave away the exercise machine to charity snd don’t have it any more.
the system won’t recognize my number and I can’t get anyone to talk too. Do you have a phone number do I can figure out what to do?

If you no longer have the machine, find the order in your Seller Hub/Orders/Awaiting shipment. Use the drop down menu to the left to Cancel the order, citing 'Out of Stock'. Easy peasy. Good luck.
