Canceled local pickup orders because they apparently thought it would be delivered?
I've had this happen 3 times in a very short period of time and it seems strange. Anyway, someone makes a purchase of one of my local pickup-only items, and apparently they did so mistakenly thinking it would be delivered to them, so they cancel the order after I inform them that it's pickup only. Do I get charged a fee when this happens? And why is this happening with people who have a bunch of reviews and 100% positive feedback?!? Like, wouldn't they definitely know better and not make a mistake like that? Seems fishy to me and I'm ready to just start declining the cancelation requests because I feel like someone is messing with me! Advice? Suggestions? Tia!

Not all buyers are smart and attentive.

Yoru final value fees are refunded, except (I think) for the 40 cent fixed transaction fee. A quick look at the refund transaction details should confirm this.

What would expect that this woudl accomplish?
Advice? Suggestions?
We cannot see youre listings, but I would suggest adjusting youtrr titles to make it clear that they are pickup only.

·8 months agoFeedback for buyers is meaningless.
Sellers can only leave positive FB for buyers. Many or most sellers have it left automatically with some meaningless words.
There are no tests for literacy or intelligence which are required to become an Ebay buyer.

·8 months agoWhen reading so many posts here, I only wish there was a strict requirement that every buyer as well as every seller be required to read the MBG before starting to buy or sell on eBay. Could cut down on Board traffic considerably.

Does using 3 stamps work for Media Mail?

·8 months agoOver the years, I've listed 3 or 4 local pickup items, and on 2 occasions the buyer did what you're describing. They just don't look at the shipping in the listing.
So I started writing the first words in the title in all capital letters: LOCAL PICKUP ONLY.
This solved the problem for me (again, based on just a couple of items listed).
Edited to add: declining the cancellation won't do you any good. If the buyer doesn't pick it up, they'll just file INR, you'll have no proof it was delivered, and you'll be forced to refund anyway. Just accept it and move on.

·8 months agoOne problem with Local Pickup, Ebay shows it as Free Local Pickup and all the buyer see's is FREE.

Or buyers in a big hurry who don't read the whole listing?

·8 months ago1.) No, there is no fee for a cancelled transaction.
2.) If you don't want people to pick Local Pickup by mistake, don't offer it as a shipping option by default. (You can still manually add it if a buyer specifically requests it.) It's up to you to determine whether this will turn away too many legitimate local pickup buyers.

·8 months agoBuyers can't cancel; only you can, and when you do you then wind up refunding. No fees for a refunded order.
Know that ebay is a 'shipped' type entity in the eyes of 99.99999% of the buyers (regardless of their feedback).
Local pickup works for Pianos and Pickup Trucks- otherwise it's best sold on Craigslist.

Seriously, to the OP, since we cannot see any of your listings, we can't tell whether you're making it clear that this is local pickup only, but, assuming that you are, maybe it should be in giant capital letters and underlined in your listings.
