Can anyone explain this?
Summary: flp reported being charged a promotion fee for an item they did not intentionally promote and sought community insight into the issue. inhawaii asked if the item had ever been promoted in the past, but flp confirmed it hadn't. sreu3058 suggested it might be a 'Halo' effect from eBay, where a buyer purchases a different item after clicking on a promoted ad. However, thriftyfiftyfifty questioned if flp was referencing a different type of promotion, and flp clarified that while most of their items are promoted, they were unsure how this particular listing got attached to another promotion campaign.
Just sold an item which I did not promote. In my sku I noted that I didn't promote and I triple checked that I didn't open that blue button to set an percentage. Yet, there was still a promotion fee taken. Any ideas on why this happened?

OPSep 15, 2026 at 8:47 PMAlmost all of my items are promoted. How would this listing have gotten attached to another?

·Sep 15, 2026 at 9:14 PMFirst off, you haven’t really said how you are Promoting? Are you using a General Campaign or a Priority Campaign (Pay Per Click)? If you are running campaigns, there is an option to include every new listing you post to that campaign automatically going forward.

(not the Beyoncé song)
An eBay Halo sale on Promoted Listings occurs when a buyer clicks on one of your promoted ads and then purchases a different item from your shop within 30 days.

·Sep 15, 2026 at 5:07 PMThe OP is probably talking about a General Promotion which your example does not apply to.
