I would recommend you accept the cancellation and not risk bigger issues, but you can leave it packed up for when someone else hopefully orders it, to save that effort then.
Restocking fees are prohibited.eBayphased out the official restocking fee option several years ago. Sellers who attempt to include it in their listing descriptions are in violation of policy.
If you include a restocking fee in your listing. Even if a seller states they charge a restocking fee, eBay's official policy supersedes it.
I agree with simba6, I have heard some sellers say they do charge a restocking fee, But I would think if you don't put that in the listing you would be subject to negative feedback at minimal, Just cancel under buyer requested & play it safe!
Some sellers do try. However, if you ship it, the buyer can make up a false not as described case and return it on your dime. So, while you don't have to cancel it's the wiser choice to make. You will never make the buyer happy going through with the sale. I would cancel by all means. Place them on your blocked bidder list too.

·10 months agoYes, but normally its on a return, not usually on an item before its sent out. Some might, others might not.
Probably buyer ends up on the blocked list if it caused you to waste time on doing anything for the order.

·10 months agoeBay doesn’t allow restocking fee. If a seller does charge a restocking fee, the buyer can open a case through eBay to recover their money.

A preset deduction is no longer taken on a remorse return but sellers can adjust refunds if they are TRS.
