Buyers will see discounted shipping rates
Hello,
I have started to get this notification when creating listings on the shipping service portion. I don't know what it means.
In my shipping preferences I have buyers do not get the eBay discounts when shipping rates are calculated for them. I double checked and this preference is still the same.
Does this notification mean they can see the discount but they still pay the full price? My old listings do not have this.

No, they don't pay full price. They pay the discounted rate......and only see that rate......They don't see original price with a strikethrough rate.

Yes! Buyers will get the discounted rate. It helps you sell the item better and Ebay profits off it in the long run.

OP10 months agoBut my shipping preference is set to "Standard Rates without discounts".

·10 months agoI would double check that if you haven't yet, there have been times in the past when it was changed for sellers.
If that's set correctly, it's probably just a mistake in the wording, but a good way we can check is if you'll pick out one of your listings with calculated shipping, give us both the item number or link to it, and the weight and dimensions you entered, and then we can check to see if it is displaying the discounted or retail rates to your customers. Edit: it'll need to be a listing that doesn't use USPS Media Mail, since those rates aren't discounted so there's no discount to pass along.

For me the it's showing the discount as $4.79-$5.55 USPS Ground Advantage. The strike through price (which I'm guessing is the un-discounted) is $7.50-$9.25.
So if you see the shipping price between $7.50 and $9.25 then it's acting as normal.
The warning notification on the create listing page is misleading me.

·10 months ago@jasus_68 Thanks for the link. Yeah, it looks like it's showing the correct price to your buyers, the retail rate instead of the discounted rate (I see the shipping cost as $8.35 to me).
I would click the ? icon that should be on the bottom right of the screen where you're seeing that message (or I think on the listing form it may be in the very top right instead), and send the feedback to eBay about that message from there. Sounds like it's just worded incorrectly.
