Buyers not paying
What happens to buyers who won and then don’t pay or don’t answer messages? Happened twice in the last two weeks. Frustrating.

·9 months agoI don't send messages. You win; you pay. My seller preferences are set up to automatically close out unpaid items after 96 hours (4 days) from the time of auction ending, which is the minimum time period that eBay gives winners within which to pay, after which the unpaid item is closed out and the deadbeat gets an Unpaid slap on their account. You can set that up here: https://www.ebay.com/Cancel/Preference/UnpaidPurchase
My BuyItNow items are all set to Immediate Payment Required.

·9 months agoYou can make Fixed Price listings Immediate Payment Required. Since most FP buyers are right there, this goes without any notice or difficulty.
You can add a requirement that Auction bidders register a method of payment before they can bid. Many potential bidders are concerned by this, not wanting to have their financial information "public" and will not bid.
No need to depend on the customer.
The customer does have up to 96 hours to pay, which feels painfully long, but at 96hours and one second, the deadbeat gets an Unpaid Item Strike.
Two or more of those and they will be uable to bid with thousands of sellers, who have set up an automatic Block on bidders with Strikes.
You can set up that Block in Seller Preferences or Buyer Requirements.

·9 months agoAre these the Legos which sold on one bid?
Could be instant buyer's regret because they think they paid too much. Many buyers place a bid thinking they will be outbid and can decide later what it is worth and whether to bid again. When their bid is the only bid, the fear they overbid, and do not pay for the item.
Consider selling as Buy It Now, fixed price listings and leave the auctions to other sellers.

A buyer who doesn't pay within the allotted time will receive an 'unpaid item' strike from ebay.
2 of these in a year's time is bad news for the buyer.
