buyers dont enter feedback
I suspect most sellers have noticed that buyer feedback has fallen off dramatically. My take on it is that the buyer has to actually compose and type some narrative to leave feedback and most people hate to compose and type something original. Suggest the buyer be given a small selection of pre-written feedback narratives so they can just check a box, would improve buyer feedback a lot !!

·3 years agoPeople are very busy today. Like someone posted, everyone wants feedback. I only leave feedback on ebay transactions. I don't have the patience to learn how to do it on Amazon. I will not post feedback for a doctor or a restaurant. If I have an issue at a restaurant, they will know it right then at the moment. Anyway, feedback is voluntary. I can understand the newer sellers wanting it in order to increase sales. You can put a thank you inside and ask the buyer to let you know if everything is well. You can print these ahead of time and just slip them into the package. Make sure that you include your Ebay ID and the item #. Sometimes a buyer won't know which seller he should give a feedback too. Of course, you need to be super sure that you are not going to get a negative. Your description must be accurate all of the time.

·3 years agoIt has fallen off for two reasons, I think:
First, buying on-line is no longer an exciting novelty but just the way many of us shop routinely, every day for everyday stuff. It's not such an engaging experience that I want to expend extra effort to comment on it.
Second, everybody and his brother pesters us for feedback after every encounter these days. Medical providers do, merchants do, financial institutions do, government agencies do, delivery services do, every outfit's customer service we contact does, and on and on and on. It's tiresome and, as I said, this is routine stuff that doesn't engage me enough to want to comment on it.
I really think that all these people and institutions should accept that No News Is Good News, and leave it at that.

·3 years agoI think with more people using their cell phones as a way to shop on-line Feedback will become less.
I like the Feedback because I see it as a conclusion of the transaction. If there is no Feedback left after a few weeks I may send a message thru eBay just to make sure everything is ok. If they do not reply or leave Feedback that is ok.

·3 years agoWhen you send that message asking if everything is okay, have you never received a response that made you feel like you should have let sleeping dogs lie?

·3 years agoI've noticed this as well. I try to always leave positive feedback, or contact the seller first before any negative/neutral. Maybe 2 out of 10 seem to leave positive feedback now... it hurts because of the percentage calculations. I wish it was like Mercari, where after 3 days positive feedback is automatically given.

·3 years agoSo you, as a buyer, had a less than positive experience on eBay, but you decide, for whatever reason, not to leave any FB at all. And it would be okay with you for eBay to leave an automatic positive on your behalf?

Feedback is not required by the buyer or seller. It is totally voluntary. From what I see you have a lot of great feedback, so people are singing your praises.
Keep up the good work and Happy Selling.

Feedback on eBay should be important to both parties.
I see it totally different than from the brick & mortar stores asking for feedback. I will receive messages from the B & M, but never reply. If I have an issue, I will let them know in person. With eBay, you're dealing with people that are hundreds, if not thousands of miles away.
As a buyer, I will leave feedback usually within a few days. I just want to review the item a few times before I do so. It can be easy missing a flaw or stain just at first look.
As a seller, I have stopped leaving feedback until the buyer leaves it first because:
1. Why should I bump their feedback up when mine stays idle?
2. I don't want to leave feedback immediately to a buyer and then all of sudden they want to complain or open a case.
3. I could be wrong, but I don't believe I can retract positive feedback to a buyer after they end up leaving a neutral or negative down the road. I do believe I can probably do a follow-up on my feedback left and respond to their comment to state my case. If I have to do any of that, the buyer is added to my block list.

Voluntary.
Some bother to leave feedback for a seller. Some do not. Nothing new here.

·3 years agoI think people have become saturated with giving feedback. Every service out there asks for feedback, whether it is a doctor appointment, etc. People just want to buy things and be done with it, without constantly having to make comments.

·3 years agoThe feedback tool already has some pre-set feedback responses for buyers.
Try not to worry too much about receiving feedback. Just provide excellent service, ship the correct item, ship on-time, packkage the item securely and you will be slowly but surely receive more & more feedback. If the buyer leaves feedback......perfect......if the buyer doesn't leave feedback.....also perfect.
Good luck!

·3 years agoIf the pre-written feedback does not match the buyer's view of the transaction, then they will write in feedback what they want. Or they don't leave any at all.
