Buyer used my return postage label twice
A buyer filed a return, received my return postage label (issued by Pirateship), sent back the item, and received a refund for this back in May.
Today I received another package from this buyer with the same exact return postage label I issued to them over 2 months ago. They already used it back then. Inside is a random item I suspect the buyer bought from a dropshipper. Am I going to get charged for this return postage label twice?

·2 years agoYou might, you might not. I've had situations in the past where same label was used twice because the buyer printed 2 copies. On one I was not charged through the APV and on another I was charged through the APV. Luck of the draw? 🤷

·2 years agoOh wait, if I'm remembering this right - the one where I wasn't charged, buyer shipped both packages same day. And on the one where I was charged, buyer shipped the second package later that week. So maybe that was a factor? Just guessing here.

OP2 years agoDid you create your return postage thru Pirateship? How did you find out you were charged, in your CC statement or was there something shown in Pirateship history?

·2 years agoIt comes through like any other USPS APV cost adjustment. You'd get an email from Pirate if/when the second charge is applied.

·2 years agoAlthough I've never had that happen, and doubtful anyone else has either; I don't see how you can get charged twice as a label's only identification is it's tracking number so it doesn't seem there would be any way to charge for that label again.
What reason did buyer use in the return?
What does the return state (regarding 'being shipped' since the tracking wouldn't be any good to be any proof?

·2 years agoThe return was closed out back in May with a refund. Once the return is closed the tracking number disappears from the return (it's there on the backend where eBay can see it, but we can't see it as sellers). So I'm gonna make an educated assumption the return shows nothing other than delivered, refunded, closed. Either way, it's not relevant what the return shows.

OP2 years agoReason was "buyer didn't like it". The return states as being closed because the buyer returned and already got their refund over 2 months ago. What happens to the tracking after that, ebay doesn't care. USPS often re-uses tracking numbers after a year or so and all the ebay returns who are linked to those tracking numbers stay the same.
