Buyer told me he could see previous sales with prices.
I recently had a buyer send me this message.
"I was happy to pay $40 each until I saw that everybody before me had only paid $25. I think you should change your eBay set up so that purchasers don’t see what others have paid for the same thing"
What he referring to is the fact that I had some old stock that I had acquired at a lower cost that I was selling for $25. Once I had sold through that stock I ordered more, but my cost had gone up, so I increased the price of the item. I cannot find anywhere where he would have seen what previous purchasers have paid. I have tried reaching out to customer service but they aren't grasping what I am saying. Can buyers see what past buyers have paid? Is this a setting we can change?

·1 year agoPrices change all of the time on most items. The cost of gas, eggs, and bacon can cost more tomorrow.
Is it possible that they are referring to the current average selling price of the item, not what you sold it for before?

·1 year agoI would just explain to the buyer that this is how the site is set up. And explain to him what you said here - the cost to obtain these items has gone up since you sold the last older lot, and you've had to increase the price. Commiserate a little and say you do try to keep your prices down but there's only so much you can do.

·1 year agoThats a buyer who would get blocked by me. If they are complaining already, then you dont want to sell to them for sure.

Buyers can use ebays research tools and see sold items from previous years.
