Buyer threatened to leave negative and keep the item if I dont send her money directly to her PayPal
A buyer ($6.99 sale) was not happy with the condition (nothing wrong, but some collectors have rights to have their own opinion), so I offered her to return for refund-no problem - replied right away.
Then four days later, I got a nasty message saying that I`d have to send the money directly to her PayPal account (I don`t even have it!), and if I don`t agree to her terms, she would leave me negative and keep the item.
I really don`t get it why she doesn`t want to do it the proper way-file a Return request and the return the item. Too many return requests?
I told her to do the proper way and that I`d report her for extortion etc. What`s wrong with this buyer?

·3 years agoIf I were you I would screenshot her threats & report her immediately to ebay & then block her. You don't deserve this & nobody should have to put up with this. Trust me, ebay doesn't take kindly to threats. Report her asap! Good luck & let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

·3 years agoI'd still make the buyer open a Return request. If the buyer is still allowed to do an MBG Return, that is.
If not, tough noogies.

·3 years agoI had a gent once buy some chairs, took a photo of the string from the tags hanging and claimed damage. Said he wanted a refund. I asked him to go through eBay so I could do an RMA since I had a standing order with the manufacturer. He refused an RMA, so I said, "Well for a refund you still need to go through eBay for accountability," he still refused, said it was too much trouble. He later threatened to leave negative feedback, at which point I reported him and blocked him. I wish eBay had a better system in place for sellers to leave reviews on buyers that show their trustworthiness, but its obfuscated and we are just told to report it and they'll handle IF they get enough reports.

·3 years agoShe sent a gold-plated feedback extortion message. You can also Report the buyer; it should be in the left-hand pulldown menu on your sold items list. This clown needs to find another circus to join.

OP3 years agoI already reported her, thank you! Will see what her next step is. She is not a new member, so I guess her extortions worked if she still plays that game.

·3 years agoYou did the right thing.
Have her do it the "proper way".
I would stop communicating with her. Block her.
If that dreaded negative feedback comes, you should be able to get rid of it based on that message she sent.
Good luck!

OP3 years agoShe even demanded to refund her $12.04, from which $1.10 is the tax I have nothing to do with and $1.90 ebay fees (my net payout including the shipping was only $9.04, but she wants me to pay $3 more)

·3 years agoIf you give a refund, you as the seller do not have to pay the sales tax out of your money. Ebay will automatically refund the sales tax from what was originally collected from the buyer.

·3 years agoAnd your fees (except for the 30c non-refundable service fee) will also be refunded to you.
When there is a legitimate refund, the unhappy buyer gets their entire payment back, and the seller loses only that 30c from the money they received.
