Buyer scams
We have always had to budget 1-5% for fraud and such, but ever since covid the amount of theft is unreal. Like purchasing gift cards then once they see the tracking number was uploaded will claim it was an account fraud to get their money back. It is very difficult to intercept the package, and costs us more money. I also have had numerous theft selling magic the gathering cards. People will buy a lot, keep the cards they want, then open a "item not as described" claim and get their money back. Doesn't ebay realize if it looses their sellers, they loose their business? I am most likely all done selling here.

·2 years agoAlthough there is more fraud on Ebay than many other ways of selling, some types of items are problems no matter where you sell them.
Apple gift cards are as tempting to fraudsters as offering cash for sale at a discount.
Creating large lots of mixed cards without defining what cards are in the lot will similarly provide temptation.
Having no feedback in the last 12 months and offering these lots makes you look like easy pickings.
You have likely cost Ebay money on your few transactions, so your conclusion which is correct in the broadest sense my not be applicable to your few sales.
Not everyone and everything on Ebay is as bad as your experience, but you have not invested much time and effort in selling on Ebay.
