Buyer says turning me into ebay...
I had a funny feeling about this buyer from the get go.
Sold an expensive heavy item on Thursday night. Told him I'd ship it out first thing Saturday morning. I then noticed he was only about two hours from me and offered to drive an hour to meet him halfway if he would prefer. He asked me when, and I told him Saturday morning. He said, "might as well ship it if you have to wait that long". What? lol, Waiting one day is "that long"?
In any event I was able to get the package to the drop-off location on Friday evening instead of Saturday. Fedex could not pick up the package until Monday or Tuesday due to the big snowstorm. I was told to expect LONG delays. I informed the seller of this, I uploaded pics of the package, the label on the package AND the receipt from the Fedex approved drop-off location and the notice from Fedex's website that there will be delays across the nation.
This guy has messaged me THREE times because tracking still shows "label created" and nothing more. I tried reasoning with him and explaining evening without a major snowstorm this is a common occurrence that since I do not have the package there is nothing I can do, it's all up to Fedex now and reminded him of the receipt I uploaded. He wants none of it. He told me he's turning me into ebay and calling his credit card company, lol. What is wrong with people????

Firstly: Since when are threads closed after only 2 months?
And secondly: Why should the OP start a new thread for the follow up?
Or were you only joking for April Fool's Day?

·8 months agoFor future shipments, Fed-Ex packages can be dropped off at some Walgreens stores:

Almost certain they upload an acceptance scan directly to eBay as well.

·8 months agoI guess there is no way to recall / intercept the package from Fed Ex and then cancel the order? If you could, you should do that. What an unreasonable buyer with no regard for anyone. Geez. Sorry for the issues.

·8 months agoWill be interesting to see what eBay does...let us know...supposely eBay has 'your back' due to the weather.
But a dispute with a credit card...item will eventually have tracking...it's a matter of when buyer opens a claim.
With a dispute if it's opened...do respond to the claim and use the maximum words allowed 1000+ I think.
And for photos...maybe photos about the storm and such instead of the item. You need to download photo(s).
Remember, bank will be reading it and looking at photos and not so much eBay about a credit card dispute.
Good luck.

OP6 months agoI ended up contacting ebay and trying to block the guy as he kept contacting me and threatened me with all kinds of silly things. The item was delivered to the buyer two days later despite the huge snowstorm and despite the fact it wasn't scheduled to be delivered for several more days. The guy never came back and apologized or left me feedback.

·8 months agoI think the biggest difference I've seen over time has been for society to side with the person from their identity group, whether that person is the honest or dishonest side of the transaction. 50 years ago, at least in public, people would more likely side with the honest person regardless.

If I had a funny feeling from the get-go, I would have used the same 2 hours I offered to drive on Saturday morning and taken it directly to Fedex and gotten a scan.

·8 months agoCould have just driven the entire way, but then you’d have no proof of delivery.
Unfortunately, “label created†means nothing, but given the storm I probably would not have reacted that way.
I have contacted sellers in the past when items sit in the “label created†state for more than a week. I did have one seller tell me they couldn’t find the item to send after creating the label. Apparently they were just waiting to see if I was going to forget about it?

·8 months agoIt wouldn't have mattered since the seller would've required cash in person. Otherwise, they'd be at risk.
