Buyer said my description is mostly accurate and had an issue, am I covered?
Hello, I've been decluttering and selling old model kits from the closet and I got a message from a buyer today who was a bit disappointed in that the decals were probably no good and according to him, and the kit was a "total different ballgame" from what I described. Keep in mind this kit is 43 years old. I believe my description is 100% accurate for this, what do you think? It literally says in two places that the decals are old and they are 43 years old and may not be usable. I don't see any discrepancies in my description, it's open, complete, decals are old. I've been doing this for 27 years and this is a first. I don't think he'll file a complaint, but what do you guys think? I don't know how it could get any more accurate, especially with the photos. ·1 year agoAll that stuff about the model and the age and the description and the decals doesn't matter. Ebay offers all buyers a MBG (money back guarantee). If the buyer is unhappy, don't argue with him. Tell him to start a return via ebay. Tell him when you get the item back ebay will issue him a full refund.

·1 year agoDoesnt matter if the buyer even acknowledged that the labels may not be usable. Or if you put it in larger text... the MBG will give the buyer the right to return on your dime.
I would respond to the message. "this item is 43 years old and in the description I have said the labels may not be useable. Please return for refund"
You may want to increase the size of your text on the listings and break it up some. Just a suggestion... many people buy off of their phones and the text is small on my computer. Not that this will help with the issue now.

·1 year agoIn a world where common sense prevails, most buyers would understand the risk in purchasing an item (had warning in description) that the stickers may not be as sticky as they once were. However, with the eBay MBG and your item being listed as USED, the buyer will win a return request if they state the items arrived not as described. Even if your item was listed for parts/repair and you stated some items are missing, buyers can manipulate the eBay MBG to their advantage.
I would message the buyer and try to reason with them by explaining (message screenshot highlighted) where in the listing you state the decals may not be good. (sticky) Keep in mind the eBay MBG (money back guarantee) is strong for buyers, and they still can leave you negative feedback.
