Buyer Request
Greetings,
I have a question about the Ebay return policy. From what I understand, Ebay allows 30 days. The buyer purchased a video games from me on Feb 24th. They requested a refund on March 30, well after the policy. I told the buyer I would gladly refund if they could prove its the same disc I sent them. This still leaves room for the buyer to return a disc they damaged. What are my options? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

·5 months agoThe one time I had a return that was outside the return window, the message from eBay stated that I don't need to accept it. (But encouraged it anyway). Not sure if you got the same message or if it's still within 30 days after delivery. For me if it's a buyer's remorse it's a no-brainer, figure they pay return shipping and I get the item back. (The calculus will be different if you offer free returns for any reason). I meditate a bit more if it's INAD since I'd have to pay for return shipping, but if it's just one or two video games, figure I'd accept the return then write off the return charges on the metaphorical spreadsheet. At least I'd (probably) get the item back. (Edit: typo and phrasing)

First, the clock for a return or dispute starts from the day it was received, not from the day it was sold.
Second, a buyer can still request a return outside the return or dispute window. You are just not obligated to honor it.

·5 months agoWhen was the item DELIVERED? That is the date that matters......it is 30 days after delivery

·5 months agoFeb 24th means nothing. The date that matters is "Delivered" for the 30-day MBG...

·5 months agoYou need to check the tracking number to see the date it got 'delivered'...not sent.
And buyers can open claims for 160+ days if they want to...eBay allows it...doesn't mean buyer will win.

·5 months agoWhen was this item delivered? EBAY 30-Day Money Guarantee is based on "delivery date".

·5 months agoIf the MBG has expired, you can deny the return.
They can still do a chargeback through their payment source, then the MBG won't matter.
