BUYER REMORSE AND FALLS CLAIMS SHOULD NOT HURT SELLER RATING!!

Something really needs done about "seller evaluation". Which is common, I had someone put in a return request under the "item defective" premise. But of course after I helped them they realized IT WAS NOT DEFECTIVE. Went away happy with the transaction. BUT, now I get dinged on my seller rating since they opened a request. How does this make any sense? 90% of my return requests get resolved with happy customers yet I have a "high level" of returns. Buyer remorse....same thing. Buyer changes their mind, enters return request, and another DING. Can some actual logic be applied to these ratings please?!

This is one of the more frequently re-occurring type of examples why I say Ebay is unnecessarily adversarial AND punitive towards sellers.

I hate it when a customer files a falls claim.

No need for 'snark' unless you change your avatar to a "spelling police badge".

There is logic and it is simple.

With 1.5 billion listings, there is no way that eBay is going to investigate each claim individually and determine the level of buyer satisfaction.

If a seller is generating a high number of return requests, eBay wants that sellers to figure out why, and adjust their selling practices to address the issue.

It is pretty clear that eBay cares THAT you are generating return requests, not WHY you are generating them.

Sellers don't generate high numbers of return requests, rather remorseful buyers do, and there is nothing sellers can do to defend themselves from this.

Virtually every return I've ever had were buyers remorse, and all end with buyers claiming the item was not as described. When the item gets returned, its relisted and resold to someone else with no problems. I wonder why that is? Because buyers constantly lie about the reasons for their returns.

The reality is sellers have no way to defend themselves, ebay just takes the buyer's word regardless of what they do, or how much they lie.

Contrary to your ignorance, sellers dont generate return requests, buyers do, and often for nefarious reasons.

Sure buyers can defend themselves from returns, but It depends on what kind of returns.

    RETURN: INAD Returns

    DEFENSE: Describe your item better.

    RETURN: Remorse returns.

    DEFENSE: Don't accept remorse returns.

    RETURN: False INAD returns.

DEFENSE: Not much you can do there.

The very fact the buyer makes a subseauent decision to close it, is proof enough its resolved to the buyers satisfaction.  No one can force the buyer to close it against their will.

    @bobcatcityretro

If you are speaking about seller metrics (when you are compared to your peers) where you are rated normal, high, very high etc. those dings are applied simply because they happened.  They will be recorded and not removed even if the buyer closes the case, they filed in error because they got you mixed up with another seller,  you resolved their problem, or even if you refunded and let them keep the product for free.

They remain regardless of any satisfactory outcome.
