so I just got an message from the buyer that it’s being sent to the wrong address but the product is already out for delivery, but I think they stopped the package being delivered and now it’s being sent back to me the seller, but the buyer messaged me asking me to intercept it, which I went onto USPS to see if it was even eligible and it says it’s not, the buyer is also asking to use Cash App I think to pay for the new shipping, but it’s not eligible but since this is my first time going through this I don’t know what direction to go in But I want to see if I can get the package delivered to the right address any suggestions?

·1 month agoHello. I have a similar issue but I am the buyer. I put the right address but forgot to put my apartment number. Now the package is being returned to the seller. What can I do?

·9 months ago'get the packaged delivered to the right address'....items are to be shipped only to the address given by eBay.
Once item is returned to you...you can refund and I would then block a buyer who doesn't know where they live. But that's just me....my thoughts.

·9 months agoEverything in the buyer's request sounds sketchey.
Tell them that the parcel is on its way back to you, and on arrival you will refund and relist.
And that then they can correct their address, purchase and pay.
Keep it within eBay. They are trying to tempt you to take it offsite, where you lose even eBay's risible Seller Protections.
The whole problem is their fault and not your responsibility.

I suggest sitting tight. If USPS is returning to the sender it will be going to the right address... yours.
It's been advised upthread, and I agree. Once it's back, refund the buyer for the item (only) and relist the item. Your buyer can repurchase, using the right address on the Order. Good luck.

·9 months agoAFTER you receive item back, you should refund customer (purchase price ONLY). Go to ORDERS, ALL ORDERS (select SEND REFUND). Seller is not responsible for shipping costs because customer provided wrong address.
EBAY does NOT allow Sellers to "change address" on label at customer's request. This is a violation of EBAY rules.
There are many different types of scams on EBAY and thieves figured out how to get items for free. If you are selling "expensive items" (after your item sells, scammer will contact you and ask you to "change the shipping address". Only problem, they did NOT purchase this item (they just want to trick you into sending them items for free).
Relist item for sale and tell your customer they must update their address on PayPal and other credit cards BEFORE they re-purchase item.

ALWAYS ship to the address on the order.
In your case right now, let nature take it's course. If it IS return to sender to you, once you get it back, you're all good. You can refund the buyer his purchase price (minus shipping) and relist it. It's cleaner that way... tell your buyer he can re-purchase it and he will need to put his correct address on the order

Most sellers will refund the purchase price (only not sales taxes or shipping fees) when the parcel eventually returns to them.
But it is not a requirement.
And most sellers are also aware that the buyer actually paid with a credit card, which has a chargeback policy.

·9 months ago1) Verify that the Buyer ID on your All Items Sold Page
https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
and the Buyer ID in the eBay Message Center match exactly.
https://mesg.ebay.com/mesgweb/ViewMessages/0/All
Dishonest scammers who didn't buy anything will get sellers to redirect packages to other addresses.
2) If the buyer submitted a Change of Address form to the USPS, they will forward packages to the new address for six months. I have had good luck with that.
