Buyer purchased 2 items BIN, bid on 2 more and requests combined shipping
As stated in the subject line, a buyer purchased two items last night using Buy It Now and has bid on two more items from auctions that don't close until Sunday night. The buyer wants them all shipped together to get discounted shipping. I don't have a problem with the request in theory. However, I have a 3 day handling time for shipping so technically the items purchased last night should be shipped by Saturday, 7/1. If I hold those items, not shipping until Monday so I can combine all the purchases, will I get a defect on my shipping time?
Is there a work around? I read through all the shipping rules but this situation doesn't seem to be addressed. Thanks for any advice on how to handle this.

OP3 years agoLast night Ebay listed the shipping time as July 1 but today (same items), shipping date cutoff is June 30.
I had buyers make purchases today and the shipping date cutoff is July 3 for those items. When I set up my shipping preferences Ebay did not give me options for the weekend.
Anyway, I contacted the buyer, explained the situation and her options. I am waiting to hear back. If I get no response I will ship on Friday though normally I pretty much ship within 24 hours of payment except Sundays.

Yes, I also had that happen. i think it was some type of glitch. On mine I knew it was supposed to go on Friday. So, I was really surprised to see the first.

I remember reading somewhere that shipping days are business days. Sorry I don't remember where. Could have been in one of the blue info bubbles.

In my opinion, right now that is the best you can do. The most important thing is that you ship and the item gets scanned BEFORE the end time. It takes a REALLY LONG TIME for dings to go away.

·3 years agoI have one-day Shipping, so any sales made on the weekend must be shipped by end of Monday.
Fortunately, the last weekend collection at my PO is 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, so anything I can get in their hands before that time will be well on its way before Monday rolls around.

·3 years agoHi, What is your "Ship by" Date? If it is not Monday or Thursday (holiday weekend)
Then you will have to ship them separately.
I explained to folks that I must send their items on time, or I will get dinged by eBay.
I have never had anyone not understand.
For me, one sale is not worth risking many more..

·3 years agoIf the items where purchased on Tuesday the seller has a 3 day handling time, the seller has until Friday Saturday at the latest to ship.
I also have a 3 day handling time.

·3 years agoYes, you will get a defect for not shipping within your handing time. ebay is pretty strict about that. There is no work around. You will need to let your buyer know that you can't hold items past your handing time per ebay.
You can do one of 2 things.
Ship the items out that are already paid for.
OR
Ask the buyer if he wishes to cancel the items he purchased last night then you relist so he can repurchase after he wins the auctions on Sunday then you can ship altogether.
