Buyer paid shipping - we live in same tiny town
OK, once the buyer pays for shipping, there is no 'approved' was to cancel the need for shipping and just hand deliver, correct?
Sold something 'historical' related to the tiny town we're in. We never noticed that the buyer's address was a PO box in same town till we reached the post office the PO box is in. Also realized we know the guy, he's just four stores down - so took it back and will talk to him and just hand deliver at our store, void the $7 priority label and do a one oz ground adv to cover the tracking number - unless there is an official way to do it - other then cancelling and relisting 'just for him'

·3 years agoJust take a "fin" and 2 ones and deliver it to him - 4 stores down or take him for a couple beers.. The simplest solutions

·3 years agoTalked to Dave [buyer] and we're gonna cancel and relist - Could make another nine plus - you know how - but we do the right thing and will let ebay make their money - This is the fourth copy of this thing we've sold [on other ID] and we have another three so ebay gets paid.

·3 years agoYou could have just voided the label, refunded Dave the shipping, mark it shipped, hand the item to Dave.
One "no tracking " would be more or less meaningless to metrics.

OP3 years agoEbay has gotten us after fees $90 and change on the four sold so far, they deserve their cut. Would have never sold it to a guy 'down under' without ebay.

·3 years agoSometimes buyers might want some distance between the seller. Another angle might be that you use a different family member address as the return, but still ship from locally. Most buyers don't even look at the ship from actual location.

·3 years agoWhat I have had happen in the past, was sent an updated invoice before I paid that was changed to local pickup. It was done from the sellers end, so not sure on the details. Now that the item has been paid for, don't think there is a way and because of the code now used to prove delivery on local pickups, don't think you can mark delivered, so will mess with your shipping metrics.
Your best bet might be to cancel and redo as local pickup.
