Buyer opens case for item not recieved despite tracking confirmed delivery
My buyer opened up a case for item not recieved despite tracking confirms the package was delivered. Ebay is withholding the funds. The buyer says that he used paypal to complete the purchase but he didnt realize that his paypal account is connected to his former address, not his current one. I purchased the shipping label through ebay, so I assume it uses his address registered with ebay not paypal? Anyway his package was delivered, but he claims he didnt recieve it. How come ebay is witholding the funds from me for his mistake? What can I do?

If it was, buyer might be right, they haven't received it yet.
Sometimes it'll show delivered a few days before it's actually delivered.

·1 year agoIf tracking has confirmed that the package was delivered, all you should need to do is insert the tracking # in the case the buyer opened and that should be the end of it.

It may be possible that him not having the correct address on PayPal was the problem but still not your problem.
I don't know about PayPal on Ebay but on another site I hadn't ordered from for some time I placed an order and the old address from before was automatically filled in by PayPal. I'm glad I noticed and went into my PayPal account and edited the old one out. If I'd not noticed the new owners would have wondered who sent them the nice present.
I'm not sure but maybe PayPals' computers had that old address and that website connected somehow. Maybe something might (might) have happened to your buyer. Still not your fault, buyers fault.

Have you responded to the dispute and provided the tracking number within the dispute?

·1 year ago@albertabrightalberta is absolutely correct. You will be just fine. The claim should close in a few days in your favor and then the money will come off hold. Just make sure you respond to the INR they filed with the tracking number.

As long as you shipped to the address shown on the order and tracking shows delivery, you should be find.
Respond to the case and if it's not automatically added, paste the tracking number into the response.
It's a buyer's responsiblity to make sure they're addresses are correct when they make their purchases.
ETA: Ebay automatically puts a hold on funds for any claim or return. They will release once the case is closed (or if you're a new or infrequent seller up to 30 days).
