Buyer opened payment dispute for item not received that was shipped out this Friday
There is a first time for everything! I just received an item not received charge back today and in the comments buyer is requesting a refund for not receiving their goods. The item was purchased on January 29th, shipped Friday January 30th. Today is Sunday Feb 1. So they allowed 0 business days to receive this item and we are still well within the shipping window of delivery. Furthermore, they are located in a state that is being slammed with a winter storm. What would you do? It says I have until Feb. 6 to reply. Right now I have zero seller protection because the item isn't delivered, even though it is physically impossible for that to have occurred yet. Should I wait until it hopefully gets delivered before Feb. 6 to challenge it? It isn't an expensive item, $13. Do I refund and be done with it? Do I challenge it now, knowing it will be delivered prior to them closing this but if their bank finds in their favor I'm unsure if I will have seller protection on ebay?

·7 months agoI would respond and give them a timeline and a tracking number.
Hopefully the credit card company will see what a idiot ths guy is and deny his claim.
Good luck.

·7 months agoI agree, look for the option to update the tracking details. The tracking number may already be there, so if so, just hit the button at the bottom to update it. I also usually then choose the option to send a message to the buyer and let them know when it was shipped and whatever the latest status is.
If it shows any updates to the tracking, even just received by the carrier, eBay extends the case deadline, and will often do so again when the tracking updates in the future.

·7 months agoDo you mean a chargeback on the buyer's credit card?
Is eBay part of the discussion?
You should be able to put tracking information in any Dispute or Claim being handled through eBay.
If not -DO NOT TRY TO PHONE EBAY.
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service.
Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/How-do-I-contact-Customer-Support/m-p/32016431#M1783851 -> Automated Assistant, type AGENT -> enter. You will then get more options.
Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

·7 months agoThanks for clarifying. That does change things.
If the message about the dispute doesn’t say you are covered and don’t need to do anything, prepare a simple response, with the order date, tracking number and status, and expected delivery date, and upload that into the dispute. I don’t recall if the current process has a text field where you should type it in, or if you can only upload attachments, but if it’s the latter, just type all that into a document, maybe include a screenshot of the tracking status and the label if you have an copy of that still, and upload that all as a PDF.

·7 months agoIs it a claim through eBay? If its already been shipped, there should be an option in the claim to update the tracking information. Dont yet refund them unless it doesnt get delivered by Feb 6th.
