Buyer opened a claim with eBay saying they did not receive the item but tracking # shows they did
Summary: salesofsurplus discusses a situation where a buyer has opened a claim on eBay, alleging they did not receive an item, although the tracking number indicates it was delivered. momtoabeautifuldaughter, stainlessenginecovers, and krazzykats respond, likely providing advice or sharing similar experiences. salesofsurplus offers further responses, possibly adding more details or reacting to the advice given. The thread revolves around handling buyer disputes and verifying delivery through tracking information.
I received an email from eBay that there was a claim opened against me saying that a buyer contacted eBay saying that they did not receive the item I sold them. Tracking # shows it had been delivered five days prior to them opening a claim. I proved eBay and the buyer with the tracking number and not heard back from eBay. Since I haven't heard from eBay does this mean that I lose the sale and have to absorb the financial loss of the item plus the S&H? I don't know how to get a hold of eBay since they don't provide an 800 number of Customer Service. They just keep referring me to the Help tab. Very frustrating.

·4 months agoSometimes it shows as delivered, but the buyer never actually gets it!
I’m dealing with that right now as the buyer. It says it was delivered 5/23 to my PO box, but it wasn’t there. I’m hoping the misdelivered item turns up, but it’s just not fair to either. Neither the seller nor I did anything wrong; it just never showed up.
I didn't receive the item, and the seller only sees that it’s been marked as delivered....

·4 months agoBut you MUST respond to the 'return case' if the buyer opened one, giving the Tracking number (again)!!

OP4 months agoThank you, yes I did respond to both eBay and the buyer. He wrote back, "**bleep**, I never got it." I told him to check with his neighbors maybe some one picked it up by accident. I don't know why USPS didn't just roll the item (magazines) and put them in his mailbox. The tracking information from USPS just said "delivered to doorstep 5/23/. So I don't know if they literally left it on the ground or not. I know we had postal carriers that will leave a box on a bench by our side door if it is too big to fit in the mailbox. Unfortunately they sometimes leave the letters for that day also with the box. We have a lot of wind and have actually found a letter or two out in the flower beds behind the house a couple of days later.

·4 months agoNo need for you to do anything.
No need for you to contact ebay.
If you already responded to the case with a tracking number that shows "delivered" you're good to go.
In a few days the case will close in your favor.
You win.

·4 months agoNo, if you provided tracking in the case showing delivery you will win. The buyer will lose the case and also be blocked from leaving feedback.

OP4 months agoThank you, I believe I sent the tracking # to both eBay and the buyer and told the buyer that USPS included a message that it was delivered to doorstep of the address stated. Buyer responded, "**bleep**, I didn't get it." I don't know if that meant they didn't try to put it in his mailbox and just left it on the ground.
