Buyer only has 'current resident' as name...
Ok to ship?
Can't say I've ever seen this before.
They have a good feedback rating but I've had some bad luck recently with buyers so maybe I'm overthinking it.

·8 months agoShould be no different than buyers who only list their initials. But if you don't feel comfortable with it for any reason, you may most certainly cancel it as "problem with buyer's address". I don't think that would be unreasonable. It may put you at risk for a negative feedback so perhaps try reaching out to the buyer first. A little communication goes a long way.

·8 months agoIt would be unreasonable. You'd really be claiming "problem with buyer's name" in this situation, which is not a recognized delivery issue.
The USPS doesn't care what name is on the addressee line, with the sole exception of a Signature Confirmation Restricted Delivery mailpiece, which must be signed for by the person named as addressee. (The regular Signature Confirmation required by eBay on sales of $750 or higher can be signed for by any adult at the delivery address.)

·8 months agoI had buyers who just elected to type in there first name and that's it. The worst thing which can happen is the carrier returns to sender. If there feedback is ok then I would say ship it. That way you don't get in trouble with defects through Ebay and not have a unhappy buyer. If the item were to have been returned to you then I would contact the buyer letting them know and they need to make changes to shipping address.

·8 months agoI receive mail all the time marked Current Resident.
Names don't mean as much as the address and as long as it's right, should be OK.

·8 months agoGenerally speaking, don't believe that's a problem. The mail carrier only cares about the actual street address, not the name. I have family members who, at various times, have lived in each other's houses. They receive mail there without issues.

What does their feedback look like, both received and left for others? Any clues in any of them regarding shipping?
It could be as simple as the buyer doesn't want the seller to know their real name; I've had a few buyers that put weird addressee names or maybe just their first name on their address labels, for whatever reason.
I once had a buyer who had to try to time as closely as possible when her packages would arrive because if her husband was there when the mail arrived, he would take her packages and throw them away (he didn't like her buying things on the internet). Maybe your buyer is something like this, using the "current resident" name to make it look like he/she isn't buying anything and it's just a random package showing up.

·8 months agoIf they are only a buyer of course they have a good rating, it is impossible for them to have a bad one.
Tracking only matters if it shows delivered to address

OP8 months agoNo, it's a $200 item.

·8 months agoOk, so that possibility is unlikely. I’d say ship it, as long as you’re not changing anything on the address as entered.

·8 months agoI would say it’s safe for you to ship, since you’ll be shipping to the address on the order and the name isn’t used for tracking.
It could be some variant of the fake tracking scam being used to scam someone else, I guess. Is it a cheap, small item?
