Buyer not charged enough for shipping.
I listed an item as “Buyer pays – calculated shippingâ€. The item sold and the buyer was charged a shipping fee of $9.00 (USPS Ground Advantage). This is a large box going from Florida to California. The actual shipping charge is $107.00. I had entered the exact weight and dimensions (triple checked). I have not purchased the shipping label yet – still have 2 days. Do I have any recourse?

Sorry, but you made a mistake on the shipping.
You set it as a flat rate, not calculated, so you have to make up the difference.

·1 year agoAs already mentioned you had this set at Flat Rate shipping not calculated so you set it up to ship to anywhere in the USA for $9.29

·1 year agoNot much you can do other than ship or cancel
I would check UPS rates also as long as it is not a PO box
selling a large electronic item in used condition that you have not tested is a really bad idea

·1 year agoYeah, I've made the mistake of wrong shipping in the past too. Usually a typo on a weight or dimension. For a hundred dollar difference I'd have to consider taking the ding, but I would exhaust all shipping options first to minimize loss.
I sell a lot of large electronics and am used to this type of shipping. Believe me, be ACCURATE in your dimensions to save on pain like this.
I offer the customer the discounted FedEx or UPS rate, but do charge handling for the large boxes and extras like signatures and stuff like that. It still comes in massively cheaper than USPS.
Most important - SET EXCLUSIONS!!!!! For me it's lower 48 and no PO boxes. No PO boxes are most important because you will have to use USPS.

·1 year agoThe shipping charges are not "Calculated"
They are set for a Flat Rate (regardless of buyer location)
Check your listing, it should look like this

·1 year agoThe Robot? The listing shows $9 shipping for me, which I agree is massively not enough given the size alone. This must be a mistake in weight/dimensions. This is not something the buyer can edit by somehow 'choosing' a different shipping method, etc.
Recourse? Either take the hit and figure out the mistake, or cancel the order and take the seller 'ding' against your account. That's not usually recommended, but it's not the end of the world to a seller account if this is really a 'once in a lifetime' event to cancel a sale like this.
