Buyer Never Picked up Package
I sold an item and shipped if via USPS requiring a signature upon delivery. The buyer was not available to sign and then never picked up the package from the post office so after two weeks it was automatically returned to me. I have a no return policy. eBay initially found in my favor then reversed the decision in favor of the buyer. Not only did they essentially return the item, I've also lost the $20+ I paid for shipping even though I didn't nothing wrong on my end and did everything in my power to ensure the package got to the buyer. They buyer made no effort to receive the package and now I'm stuck with the shipping costs. The dispute was closed after the buyer appealed and I can't seem to find a way to reopen the dispute. Do I have any further recourse or am I stuck losing $20+ just because eBay wants to make the buyer happy?

·3 years agoYou might want to contact Ebay via Ebay for Business on Facebook as calling customer service is useless. If a buyer does not pick up a package the MBG is voided and in general, when you get the item back you are able to refund less your expenses, including shipping.

·3 years agoSo you want the money AND the item" how fair would that be? You can't reopen a dispute once it is closed. Looks like the only thing your stuck losing is $20.00 because you still have the item. Just resell it.
By the way your "no returns policy " does not mean no refunds.

·3 years agoIf the buyer returned the item, you should just refund and move on. You should just change your policy to accept returns because even if you don't accept returns, eBay will force you to based on their Money Back Guarantee. Buyers just open an Item Not As Described and poof. You now accept returns.
It's just the cost of doing business on eBay. You're out $20 dollars and you have no further recourse.
If you hadn't let the buyer open a case, you might have been able to refund the buyer and deduct your shipping costs. But it sounds like you were running too hard a line on the no refund policy you believe you have.
