I did what I thought was the right thing by giving my buyer excellent customer service. He asked me to delay shipping by a few days. After some online research, I was satisfied eBay would look at the buyer/seller message thread, confirm I did what the buyer wanted, and remove the late shipment ding. After my web site request to remove the late shipment ding was denied, I called eBay, and the agent also refused to remove it. He also said they'll know if I print a UPS or USPS label and sit on it for a few days before shipping.
Going forward, I'm going to regretfully tell the buyer I cannot delay shipping since it would affect my seller rating with eBay.
